NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.
What do you think? Do you like The Village TV show? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled. Would you have watched season two on NBC?
Loved it!! Like other successful, long running shows, it probably needed that second season to hit its height. For those of us who never missed an episode, we are left missing the outcome, cliffhanger, of EVERY resident. You had a great show – just not a great time slot. Needs to come back.
Please don’t cancel the Village show…it’s a good wholesome show…no murders ,etc. A real pleasure to watch
I would’ve loved to see the ending but there isn’t going to be one. I was excited to see it pending but not so much now that it ended. This why I don’t like to watch new shows!! Stop with starting them and ending them!!!!
Would have liked to see season two.
So disappointed. I love The Village and wanting to know what will happen to the residents next. Everyone of us who watched this show could identify with one or more of the characters in this show. As a single mom, a veteran, a cancer patient, senior citizen these were my people and my stories. I want to see how these people come through and survive.
So disappointed The Village was cancelled. It was the best thing to come along on network TV Hope some other outlet picks it up The acting was excellent Drama superb Come on maybe FOX will grab this one!!!!
I was so looking forward to Season 2 of The Village. Outstanding cast, wonderful story lines, very heart warming, hitting close to home with a lot of subject matters. It would be terrific if they would reconsider doing a Season 2, especially with the Season 1 leaving several loose ends.
Feel in love with the characters. Sad to see this show cancelled. I think it had great potential for future storylines. I think it should be given a second chance
I will STOP WATCHING NBC shows!!! I have grown very fond of “The Village!!!
I enjoyed each unique character. Each having a unique story. I became hooked into the lives of each. Character. The story reminds of us kindness, patience and tolerance and understanding. A timely unique Story. Very disappointed the show was cancelled.
I liked the Village, liked the characters
Very disappointed The Village is discontinued. It was incredibly well written show with excellent characters. Was so different from the run of the mill shows currently on. Was looking forward to season 2. Bring it back.
I am very disappointed and angry to hear that The Village has been cancelled. The show is inspiring and real. We watched devoutly every week. I do hope that they will reconsider their decision. There moving the program to another time slot confuses viewers and so therefore the drop in ratings. Please renew because this is one of the good ones on tv.
Best new show on TV.Hope they change mind and renew
