NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

This was a nice refresh… to see people forming friendships and bonding with one another. Much nicer then all of the crime shows and reality TV that’s out. Too bad for NBC… you totally got this one wrong when you canceled it!
Such a well-written, well-acted show. The story lines are so interesting. I can’t believe it was cancelled…please bring it back!
So upset The Village is cancelled. It hits a close second to This Is Us with the actors, storyline, everything! Such a good TV show for everyone, I seriously cannot believe it was cancelled. So so sad to see it go.
I’m sorry you saw it fit to cancel The Village before its second season. It was a really good show with some extremely interesting people and on a par, from my point of you, with This Is Us. I hope you will change your minds and bring it back.

Very, very disappointed. Great stories. Great cast. This is one show that dealt with real life..shame on NBC

I am so disappointed to hear this show was cancelled. I only watch 4 hours of TV a week and was really looking forward to watching the second season. I don’t have cable so am limited on what I can watch. Please bring it back.

We loved everything about The Village…the storyline….the characters. I thought a Season 2 was a given. Really disappointed! Hope another network picks it up

What a joke, The Simpsons are renewed year after year and crap like The View goes on and on, and this GREAT show gets cancelled???? Who the hell decides these things, I suggest you cancel them. Some network please bring us a season 2
I agree with Lorraine it is about time you start taking crap like the Simpsons, Big Brother, Survivor off. Please bring back The Village!!!
