NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

I loved the Village. I guess because it wasn’t science fiction or a violent theme no one was interested.

I absolutely love this show. My daughters watch it with me too. Tears during every episode. I am heartbroken if I don’t get to see what happens next!
This was my favorite new show! It was rich in quality. I looked very forward to it every week. PLEASE bring it back! I am 65 and purchase items from your advertisers.
The characters were so interesting, the plot so good. I am so disappointed that NBC cancelled this fantastic show.
I recently told many coworkers, friends, and relatives to watch it.
I loved this show and thought that it was so real to life. There were a lot of things going on, but the relationships hit home. I thought they were all very interesting and enjoyable. I was looking forward to another season. Better than so many other shows that stayed on. The spring timing I don’t think was very good. Great script. I looked forward to it weekly. All the actors were terrific.
Absolute crime that you are cancelling this wonderful, excellent show. Why something has to be violent or sexy or spooky, etc. to be kept on is just not right.. SHAME ON YOU NBC!

I can not believe NBC had cancelled such a great show. I don’t understand how some of the stupid shows stay on and the real to life shows get taken off. So very sad.

Best show on TV. I am still watching it as I stream several episodes two or three evenings a week. It is the only show that all ages can relate to, there is a character for everyone. If NBC promoted it like they do that awful This Is Us people would watch it. All the characters are likeable and the storyline is believable. The people are real. NBC needs to get in touch with the real people who watch TV.
The village was one of THE BEST SHOWS on TV. Big mistake to cancel this show
Left a comment earlier but not sure how to edit it. I also love the idea of the community taking care and loving one another, and a little bit on the power of prayer (maybe not the best portrayal but still something unique I haven’t yet seen on recent shows. Would love to see more faith-based things in this show). Gosh there’s just so many elements to this show that work together to make it great. It includes something for every viewer to love! Would love to see more of that!
