NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.
What do you think? Do you like The Village TV show? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled. Would you have watched season two on NBC?
It’s one of the best shows on this year – cancelling was a HUGE mistake!
I really enjoyed this show. I hope they reconsider cancelling and give us a season two.
I am so sorry to see The Village cancelled. It was one of the best shows I have watched in a long time. I would have stopped watching another show to keep watching this one. I hope you reconsider canceling.
I totally agree. So sad this show got canceled.
I hope you can reconsider canceling The Village. The show gave me a lot of hope that the world can be a better place. Please give it a chance.
I cannot believe they canceled it! I’m so mad! I love that show!
I loved the Village, and I’m 71. Why do you base your viewing audience on 18- 49 year olds? Please give it anothet try. It was refreshing against all the stupid, vapid comedies.
Agree. This had a wonderful cross section of ages, and the beauty of people helping and supporting each other. This is what our world needs, is hope like this show gave.
Yep I think they dont take into consideration. All of us baby boomers who are now older and some like me I’m 63 and on disability so I watch alot of TV and become excited when a great show starts but now I have to worry that I will get hooked and it wont last because the voters aren’t equal
I love The Village TV Show.
I agree with all the previous comments. This was one of the best new shows on TV. Cancelling it is par for the course for big-wigs who only think about so-called ratings and money in their pockets. This show had something to really say!
Please, please, bring it back!!
I agree. This show was special. And you need to give it time to draw an audience. Cancelling one of the best new shows on TV is par for the course for people who Only think of ratings & money.
Please, please, being it back!!
I cannot believe NBC canceled The Village. You have to give these shows time to get an audience. Everyone I know was watching and loving it. Very disappointed.
I can’t believe you cancelled the show after getting me sucked into the story. I feel like those people are my family too and I hope it gets picked up by another network. Each of the characters are amazing.
Are u kidding me? The Village is one of my Very Favorite new shows…. Come On, & probably for another crappy Game Show or Cop Show
please do not leave us hanging. One of the best dramas in a long time that don’t have to do with cops, hospitals or fireman just real life issues. A fantastic cast, shame on you for cancelling, hope another network picks it up.
I truly enjoyed The Village. Not everything was perfect. Some good and some not so good happened to characters. But they supported each other. We need more shows that depict people in positive communities.
Please bring it back. I loved the show. It represented so many issues that people go through. I believe that the show gives those people hope
I love this show! Why are you canceling?
