NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

This was the best show ever!! As you watch you feel like its real life and you go through every emotion. I am so upset it was cancelled. It ended with so many questions. There is still so much that could be written. Please reconsider and bring it back for season 2!
I loved this show – had so many substories that appealed to all age groups! I really thought it was the best new show to hit the networks last season. I was shocked to hear it won’t be back. So many story lines that could still be developed. Please reconsider bringing it back for another season. My entire extended family watched it and were fans. Perhaps, it needed a better time slot! I actually preferred it to the “This is Us” story line, which sadly, I am losing interest in.
I am aghast! The Village was SO good, & way better than This is Us. ( to me) very disappointed.
Loved this show, so disappointed it’s been cancelled. Please reconsider, we don’t all want to watch fantasy and violence.

My husband and I both enjoyed the village. It is hard to find something that is not violent or riskè. Please bring it back
I am disappointed that they have cancelled The Village. My daughter, myself, and many friends think it’s one of the best new shows. Please reconsider!!
I am crushed that NBC would cancel one of the best shows they have made. It was better than This is Us! And I love that show. What a big mistake.
I am so upset that the best new show since Greys Anatomy, The Village, has been cancelled. I don’t think the show was given enough advertisement and the time slot may have been a problem. Please look at this show again and bring it back. PLEASE. It really is a GREAT show.

This is a great show, great story lines with a great cast. It needs to be brought back for a second season to find your true audience. Tough time of year with time slot changes and sports playoffs. Not an accurate assessment of the show’s potential, please bring it back

I am extremely upset. I have been hooked since day 1. Completely devoted. This show has a completely new type of story with all the emotions. I feel someone has made a HUGE MISTAKE. Take some of the garbage off TV & keep this on
The story is so true to life
Yet another one season series with unfinished business the viewers will never see. Getting tired of watching new shows and getting attached to characters that get cancelled so quickly. At least give the viewers a final ending on season one episodes in case they don’t come back. This was a wonderful show with real issues that showed how people being there and helping others can make life better.
OMG!!! I can’t it better myself. This show by far was the best on. It takes mind off your problems for an hour.
Not sure why this show didn’t take off. Maybe is wasn’t promoted enough. Honestly, I would put this one up there with Parenthood and I’m really disappointed that was it.
