NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.
What do you think? Do you like The Village TV show? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled. Would you have watched season two on NBC?
So sad to see this show isn’t returning. My 12 year old daughter who barely comes out of her room watched this show with me every week. Very disappointed!
I am very disappointed that The Village is canceled. Just love this show, the story and the cast. The Village is so much better than lots of current shows. Please bring The Village back.
I’m very sad that The Village was cancelled. I definitely would have watched it .Bring it back.
I would watch the village season 2 of it had not been cancelled. I thought it was a good show. I enjoyed the story lines.
Love this series! So sad that there won’t be a second season… Was looking forward to it! It was really good why cancel!
I am extremely disappointed in the decision to cancel The Village. It is one of the more wholesome shows on television today. With all the crap that’s on tv these days it was so great to finally have found a show that is all about family and pride in our country and now it’s being taken away. Read your comments NBC!! Your viewers want this show back! Listen to your audience, you’ve made a huge mistake!
Great show. Should not have been cancelled. Great cast too. Please bring it back.
Great show. Should not have been cancelled. Please bring it back. Great cast too.
Please renew The Village – it was a great show with great acting – I can’t believe some of the shows that were renewed and this one was cancelled – all it needed was more endorsing so that more people knew about it and in my opinion, it would have more viewed than This Is Us or AMLT – Someone at NBC definitely made the wrong decision – I never watched NBC until This Is Us and I have not desire to continue watching it once I knew what they did to the next best show, The Village !!!
Love this show! I’ve been catching up on episodes on demand as I missed so many episodes during the regular season. So very, very disappointed to hear there will be no season 2!! Please consider bringing it back.
I am sooo sad The Village was cancelled. My husband & I watched twice On Demand. My family & friends love it. We want to know what happens to all those “real” people!
Great show. Can’t believe it was cancelled. I feel like these people became a part of my real life. I am so sad it’s not returning for another season.
Please don’t cancel. I never watched it until a sister told me about it. Watched all of it on demand. With all the junk on TV now, why take off a show that has something for everyone.
I loved The Village. I think it needs to be put back on.
This is a damn good show. Put it back on. The comaderie of the families. How dare you. I am seventy one, we do not matter to NBC.
Please put the village back on. We love this show and looked forward to it every week. This show was so real and the acting was great. We love the characters and were looking forward to fall season. Please put it back on. We are so tired of all the garbage on tv and this show made us smile, laugh and cry loved the characters.
I agree, why are ratings based on 18-49 yr olds only? Teenagers & 20-somethings are too busy on their phones & going out to care about tv. Demographics should be based on people who are actually loyal to a series they love; say 35-75 year olds.
