NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

My wife and I are both stunned. It was a warm, honest look at people’s triumphs and tribulations. Well acted and the music was very powerful. We’re very disappointed and are going to miss it!
I am so disappointed that NBC cancelled this show! It was my favorite and I couldn’t wait for each episode! Please bring it back. One of the few shows on television worth watching.

The village was one of the best shows we watched in a long time I had all my coworkers watch, including my 19 year old daughter. How could they end the show as was and leave us as the viewers wonder to what happened. I’m really upset that it’s cancelled I wish NBC would reconsider at least for one more season. I absolutely love all the characters and the story line!
Would have watched more than one more season. I am a vietnam vet and understand the demons veterans came home with. Family secrets etc… Should have had more closure. My wife and I waited for the next episode each week. PLEASE bring it back!!!!! One endearing show.
Finally a show that made you think and root for every character in the show. Stop keeping all the mind dumbing shows and keep something that is real life. Happy , sad, angry, hopeful, thoughtful and so much more. Once again poor choice by the networks. Bring it back!

I had recorded the entire season before I watched. Oh my. This show is amazing!!! I couldn’t stop watching through the night. The show immediately draws you into these incredible people sharing their lives. I think the storylines are interesting, profound and real. I immediately checked to make sure it’s been renewed. I am shocked it was cancelled. I like The Village better than This Is Us. Seriously, The Village has characters that are relatable and dealing with issues that real people deal with every single day. What a great disappointment! The Village was one of the best shows on TV touching
all social issues in a realistic approach. Bring back The Village in a slot that does not
compete sporting events.
I really loved watching “The Village”, and was disappointed to find out it had been cancelled. I was looking forward to a great Tuesday night line up, which included this show. I wish NBC would reconsider and bring the series back for a second season.
Bring back the Village! First heartwaming show in usch a long time. Why does everything have to be shoot them up or killing in order to get to stay on.
