NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.

The Village was an excellent show. I have been looking forward to the second season! So sad…I think you should change your minds on cancelling.

Noooooooo!!! Please do not cancel the village. It is an amazing feel good show and we need more like it! I can not tell you how many people I got hooked on this show. It may be a slow starter but as people start watching they are hooked! Bring it back!!!!!!

Was so looking forward to season 2, and now another big disappointment from NBC programming. Real life issues with real people. Hope it’s given another chance. Seems there is more to gain then lose. I’d be watching.
It figured. A good, clean show gets cut. I got invested in the characters and was looking forward to another season. Way NOT to go, NBC. Planning yet another “reality” show? Or maybe another sitcom based on sexual “humor” and/or sarcastic kids telling their hand-wringing parents what losers they are? You need to hire some actual writers.

Omgoodness I loooooved The Village. Great story line. I just loved everything about it. I’ve been waiting for it to come back and to find out it was canceled has hurt me so much!!!!!!

The Village was the best show on NBC You need to bring it back. Worried about ratings ? Will not be watching NBC this season. Step outside the box and quit playing the rating game with the same old crap every one else is putting on TV. Big Mistake on taking this one off the air before you gave it a chance. Oh my goodness! I just found out The Village was not renewed! I am stunned. It was a great show and I loved watching the characters develop. I hope they change their minds.
