What can fans expect from the Timeless movie? Recently, star Matt Lanter spoke with TVInsider about the cancelled NBC TV show and its upcoming wrap-up movie.
Lanter plays Wyatt on the time-travel drama, which finished it second and final season earlier this year. The cast also includes Abigail Spencer, Malcolm Barrett, Goran Višnjić, Paterson Joseph, Sakina Jaffrey, and Claudia Doumit.
In the interview, Lanter revealed the Timeless movie will take place during different time periods:
They haven’t shared much with me. I know that we’re going to do a couple of different time periods. See more of the same stuff that we do and people love. Hopefully, we are going to be saving Rufus. I don’t know that, but I’d assume.”
Also, Lanter said he’s grateful for all the fans have done to help the NBC series:
I think they really deserve it. They worked so hard to bring us back two different times. It’s been wild.”
NBC’s Timeless movie is expected to air sometime later this year.

I understand that a show like this is much more expensive than the usual cops/hospital/fire fare all over the TV, but it offers so much that other shows don’t. An intelligent structure within which people actually can function with each other, not always responding to the next crisis. And, oh by the way, here’s a little history thrown in for good measure. I loved Timeless, one more sane, serious, well-acted, family show with great plot lines. You learn history while watching! So disappointed that this worthwhile series couldn’t be picked up. Please network and cable stations, PLEASE pick this show up! I definitely would love to have closure with a movie if it can’t be saved!!!

It’s great that a movie is being made. It’s just a shame that the show has been cancelled. Too bad. I thought it had lots of followers. It was fun, educational, and kept your interest. Good choice of actors. I hope Rufus is brought back, with the door left open, as the end of the series, with actors ready, if it should ever return. Great concept. Thanks.
