Is Once Upon a Time coming to an end? Recently, star Jamie Chung spoke with Huffington Post about the future of the ABC TV series.
It’s been a busy couple weeks for Once Upon a Time. This week, ABC announced the show has been renewed for a seventh season. However, it was also recently announced that stars Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Emilie de Ravin, and Jared S. Gilmore will not be returning.
Now, Chung says season seven may be the last for Once Upon a Time. Speaking to HuffPo, the actor suggested the upcoming season might be the “final” one for the ABC series:
“I actually just ran into one of the creators the other night. They’ve gone seven years, that’s a long time. But there are a couple of cast members coming back for the final, final season. They keep calling it the final season, but it’s just going to keep on going.”
It’s unclear if Chung meant season seven will be the “final” season or some future season. As of now, series creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz are planning to reboot the show for the upcoming season, which doesn’t exactly sound final.
What do you think? Do you watch Once Upon a Time? Will you watch season seven? Do you think the show should end?
I felt that they should have ended it this season. The “Final Battle” episodes ended beautifully for both the season and the series. Without the core cast we have gotten to love, what’s the point. Some of the other fairy tale characters were not performed well – ie: Aladdin was awful and Jasmine wasn’t much better.
OUAT has been very uplifting personally. I can’t imagine not being able to see it. Sure most of the core cast is not coming back, but not many knew who they were when the series started and grew to love them as the series went on. Give them a chance, the writing is AWESOME. I’m sure audiences Will come to love the new ones just as much as the previous cast. I myself will give them a chance.
The ratings were already slipping now they’ve lost a lot of the cast which will continue the ratings drop. The network decision to move it to Friday nights shows that they have no confidence in the show and they expect to fail which it surely will because the move to Friday will drop they ratings to a level below which the networks are willing to keep the show on the air. They had a great ending to the series with the end of season 6 and they should have ended the show there.
Yes, I will definitely watch another season. It is a great show with lots of potential for wonderful stories to tell
ABC is also moving the show to Friday nights. Friday nights have low ratings and so networks tend to cancel shows after moving to Friday nights
I love this show and will continue to watch..
I’m looking forward to watching OUAT season 7 with a grown up Henry. It has lots of stories that it can use.
