Over the course of its history, USA Network has had both great successes and big disappointments when it comes to its original scripted shows. Which of the current ones will be cancelled or renewed for another season? Stay tuned!
Scripted USA Network shows listed: Benched, Briarpatch, Chucky, Colony, Complications, Covert Affairs, Damnation, Dare Me, Dig, Dirty John, Eyewitness, Falling Water, Graceland, Mr. Robot, Pearson, Playing House, Psych, The Purge, Queen of the South, Royal Pains, Rush, Satisfaction, Shooter, The Sinner, Sirens, Suits, Treadstone, Unsolved, and White Collar.
Last updated: Most recent ratings added for Chucky.
There’s lots of data that USA Network execs look at when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series but ratings are the major ingredient. Here’s an updated listing of all of their recent/current primetime scripted shows.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also view them here and here.
A couple of notes about these charts:
These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released (usually a day or so after the broadcasts). The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing). For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
The demo numbers, which are typically most important to the broadcast networks, aren’t quite as vital to cable channels because their audiences are usually much smaller. Demo numbers are typically reported using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). In the averages, I’m using an extra decimal for easier ranking.
What do you think? Are you surprised by any of the ratings? Which shows should be doing better? Which one do you think will be cancelled next?
I love Satisfaction! The characters are terrific, and the story line is extremely compelling. Ca’t wait to see next weeks’ episode.
Exactly what Susan G. says. All the old original Characters Are Welcome viewers want are CREATIVE well-written, breezy shows – like Monk, Psych, Fairly Legal etc were, and which a show like Suits is. All of these drew 3 million or more fans week. But of course, USA had to change course and follow the crowd by instead now offering “dark” and “edgy” dramas and dreary “reality” shows filled with phony folks deliberately acting foolishly because they know they are on TV. Horrible unwatchable offerings like “Satisfaction. Oooo, sspouses cheating on each other. Oh, how original and “edgy” ! Did… Read more »
I loved Psych, Suits, White Collar and Covert Affairs, however, when you play multiple reruns of Law and Order SUV all day long, you definitely lose audience. Bring back the cool edgy shows like Psych and Monk and your ratings will go up. We like a creative, well written script that these shows gave us week after week.
Just saw last night’s episode of Rush. Both my husband and I like it a lot. First episode we’ve seen. Think Tom Ellis is amazing. Anyone who has compared the show to House is an idiot. Is nothing the same. You would almost believe Ellis has medical training. Hamlin is perfect as father but he looks thin. Can’t someone in wardrobe get him a shirt that fits. Good supporting cast. Wonder how they make Vancouver weather Los Angeles. Hope it continues.
I love Suits, Graceland, Rush and White Collar, which is ending this year. If they can renew Sirens they can keep these shows. These shows are original and funny and keeps me and the edge of my seat. Please renew these shows ( I know White Collar is ending, I’m still upset about that one).
I love rush I hope season 2 is on its way!! !!!!!!
With Psych, Burn Notice, and soon White Collar the strongest shows are gone. The writing has gone south with the exception of Graceland which picked up a bit. There no good detective show since Monk and Psych are gone. A redo/make of Leverage may bring back the Burn Notice fans. There are no good western shows with Longmiere being shopped. And a legal show whether drama or comedy is non-existent along with paraphnomena or bad boys with SOA ending on FX. Plenty of voids to fill with new programming. However, Sirens and Rush can go. Everthing else can get a… Read more »
I really wish you weren’t cancelling White Collar, and PLEASE DO NOT CANCEL Royal Pains or Covert Affairs. I love all three of these shows and really do not wish any of them to be cancelled. Thank you.
seriously do not cancel Rush, I am getting everyone in my office addicted to it. I love the stories and the actor who plays Rush is amazing. The whole cast is good and the stories are a little off the beaten path which is why I think it is so entertaining.
I love the show, please don’t cancel
Have no fear people, USA will renew most of these shows. even though the ratings are HORRIBLE, they can’t cancel everything. Based on ratings, everything on USA should be cancelled, but that won’t happen, my guess is that only covert affairs is shown the door. and maybe rush. everything else stays because I have only seen/heard about one or two shows in development so USA can’t be like Fox and CW and cancel 60+% of their shows.
I love satisfaction keep this going.
I am a loyal watcher of Royal Pains….I have introduced the show to several others whom have also joined the bandwagon….We all wish it were more than a summer show….WE LOVE ROYAL PAINS….Seriuosly…i do not where you all get your ratings….I can tell you I know many who LOVE ROYAL PAINS…..PLEASE RENEW for next summer…Better yet…make it more than a summer series….Watch the “ratings” soar.
where do they get their ratings? from a circle of people larger than your circle of friends
just because the 20 people you know like a show does not mean the thousands that you don’t know also like the show.
I love Rush, he’s an edgier House. I think it should get a second season. I watched football 8-11 and catch Rush at the 11pm hour.
I love Rush! The casting is great. Storyline never misses a beat.
