During the regular 2016-17 television season, only three new dramas debuted on The CW. While Riverdale was renewed for a second season, both Frequency and No Tomorrow were cancelled. This year, the littlest network has introduced its new Valor TV show. Does this action-adventure series have the right stuff? Will Valor be cancelled or renewed for season two on The CW? Stay tuned.
A military drama, Valor stars Christina Ochoa, Matt Barr, Charlie Barnett, Corbin Reid, W. Trè Davis, Nigel Thatch, and Melissa Roxburgh. The story centers on the Shadow Raiders, a crack unit of U.S. Army helicopter pilots. After Jimmy Kam (Davis) disappears during a top-secret mission to Somalia, the only safe returnees — Captain Leland Gallo (Barr) and Warrant Officer Nora Madani (Ochoa) — know what really happened there. As they train to rescue Jimmy, Nora and Leland find themselves growing closer. Their desires end up at odds with their commitment to honor and duty. Jimmy’s wife and Nora’s boyfriend can’t help but be suspicious. Meanwhile, the mysterious Thea (Roxburgh), is assigned to investigate the unit’s failed mission. **Status update, below.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
1/30 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated charts, please try reloading the page. You can also see them here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Valor TV series on The CW? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
**4/30/2018 status update: Valor has been cancelled by The CW. Details here.
I didn’t watch this show, but I’m trying to figure out how this show got cancelled when it had higher ratings than Dynasty, and that one got renewed.
The CW’s worst comedy! They need better writers to punch up the jokes.
except it is not supposed to be a comedy LOL
