Dynamic Television is also handling the worldwide distribution for the series, excluding first run U.S. television and Canada.
“It’s with great pleasure and extreme excitement that all of us involved with Van Helsing receive the news of a pick-up for a second season, especially this early in our initial run,” said Showrunner Neil LaBute. “We have a wonderful and terrifying road ahead planned for Vanessa, her allies and her enemies. I think this is a world and a story that can be sustained for many years and I am inspired to do so thanks to Syfy’s obvious trust and commitment in the storytellers, cast and crew. The team is very thankful and ready to go – ready to get back on the road to Denver and to spill a lot of blood along the way.”
“We could not be more thrilled to receive a second season nod from our friends at Syfy,” said Chad Oakes, Executive Producer and Co-Chairman of Nomadic Pictures. “The incredibly talented cast, director, and writers, all lead by our fearless leader Neil LaBute, worked tirelessly to deliver us an amazing first season. We cannot wait to roll up our sleeves and continue this journey together.”

“We’re so pleased to announce a second season of Van Helsing and extend our terrific partnership with Syfy and the phenomenal cast, crew and writers,” added Daniel March, Managing Partner, Dynamic Television. “To have the series already embraced by fans and critics alike is a strong testament to our talented team. We look forward to continuing their amazing storytelling and exploring more of Vanessa’s very unique story.”

Vanessa Van Helsing (Kelly Overton, “True Blood”), a descendant of the legendary line of vampire hunters, awakens from a three-year coma to discover that she’s not only immune to the bloodthirsty predators – but also has the ability to make them human again. With this “cure” threatening the vampire’s existence and a target on her back, can Vanessa save humanity? Van Helsing is a total re-imagination of the timeless Dracula brand and stars Overton, Jonathan Scarfe, Christopher Heyerdahl, David Cubitt, Vincent Gale, Rukiya Bernard, Trezzo Mahoro, Aleks Paunovic, Laura Mennell, Tim Guinee and Paul Johansson.

What do you think? Have you been watching the first season of the Van Helsing TV series? Will you watch the second season on Syfy.
I miss Defiance
lol this is a joke, really? thought i was dreaming when i herd this flop is being renewed…. guess not.
Fabulous
I am enjoying this
Wow!! They didn’t even try to pretend it had good ratings.
Siffy renews another flop. What else is new?
Flop? It was most certainly not a flop for me… It might have been sloppy in the beginning. But i loved the show till the end
I feel the same way, it was a little hard to watch in the beginning. But now I’m hooked. I think most of the bad reviews are from inpatient people who haven’t really given it a chance. They gave up too soon!
I’m not surprised. SYFY doesn’t bat an eye at renewing shows with PATHETIC ratings. This show will finish with an average live rating of a 0.17 or less. That will make it the 5th show to be renewed with ratings that awful. Since SYFY is run by Nothing But Clowns Universal, they continue to try and pass off garbage as great. I’m not buying it.
Completely agree with you.
It’s amazing how disconnected the people at Comcast are from the disaster that is wrought in their property.
You’d think they’d fired Bonnie Hammer a long time ago, even just for thinking Mr. Robot qualifies as a TV show… 😉
Mr Robot is a great tv show. I’m not sure what you’re watching.
I watched the show where the top 1/3 of the frame was empty and where they continuously “crossed the line” on dialogue scenes.
Such sheer incompetence (be it intentional or not) only deserves the highest scorn (and the absence of viewers it’s getting: It is one of the lowest-rated original shows ever on USA, possibly the lowest, certainly the lowest-rated show USA pushed like it thought it would be a hit).
That’s the show I saw… 🙁
They have already hit 0.15 with episode 4, so I would not be surprised if they decline to 0.12. SyFy is getting this show on the cheap, so it is just filler.
Even “on the cheap” they’re not getting enough viewers to justify the loss of money…
Another example of the baffling lack of financial oversight from Comcast.
Getting shows on the cheap is nice, but not when the ratings are PATHETIC. They should be trying to get shows that have ratings above a 0.30 cheap, not rating very close to a 0.00 At SYFY, FAILURE is accepted and rewarded. It shouldn’t be.
