Where is Wayward Pines? Recently, FOX chairman Gary Newman announced season three of the TV series will not air this summer, Deadline reports.
Based on the novels by Blake Crouch, the sci-fi thriller follows the residents of the mysterious town of Wayward Pines. The cast includes Djimon Hounsou, Nimrat Kaur, Josh Helman, Kacey Rohl, Tom Stevens, Hope Davis, Shannyn Sossamon, Carla Gugino, and Toby Jones.
At this week’s Television Critics Association press tour, Newman revealed Wayward Pines is not cancelled, but there will be no new season this summer on FOX:
Wayward is not canceled, but it will not be on this summer. Wayward didn’t come together quickly enough for us to have it this summer; there have been discussions about casting. We’re still talking about it. It’s possible you’ll see Wayward at some point back on Fox. But we are focusing a little bit more heavily on unscripted this summer.”

Why should we kowtow to their whims? The viewing public is getting pretty tired of the “will it be renewed or not B.S.”. Either renew the show or get on with new material!!!!!!!!!!!

Loved the show. Would love to see a season 3 with the folks awakening in another distant future. Maybe bring in Jim Caviezel or Timothy Olyphant into the mix.

Wayward Pines was supposed to be a one-time television event. I didn’t bother to even watch season 2. The mystery was gone. They had already told the entire trilogy in the first season. Gotta milk that cash cow…

Just binge watched first 2 seasons on Hulu (how did I miss this when it originally aired?) and am hooked! What a great sci-fi show with thrilling plot and all star cast! I am checking constantly for updates on season 3 and may read the trilogy while waiting. Can’t wait to see what happens to everyone at Wayward Pines!
