Elizabeth and the other residents of Hope Valley are returning to Hallmark. The cable channel has announced that season nine of When Calls the Heart will launch on Sunday, March 6th. There will be 12 episodes this time around.
A romantic drama series, When Calls the Heart stars Erin Krakow, Jack Wagner, Pascale Hutton, Kavan Smith, Paul Greene, Andrea Brooks, Chris McNally, and Kevin McGarry. Others in the cast include Andrea Brooks, Martin Cummins, Aren Buchholz, Eva Bourne, Loretta Walsh, Kayla Wallace, Johannah Newmarch, Teryl Rothery, Hrothgar Mathews, Ben Rosenbaum, Jaeda Lily Miller, Donovan Stinson, Jonathan Purvis, Gracyn Shinyei, Kadence Roach, Christian Michael Cooper, Gunnar Taylor, and Lincoln Taylor. Inspired by the Janette Oke novel, the TV series follows Elizabeth Thatcher (Krakow), a young teacher from a high society background. She’s assigned to teach in a coal country classroom and it’s a life-changing experience. In season eight, widow and single mother Elizabeth chose between mysterious gambler Lucas Bouchard (McNally) and Mountie Nathan Grant (McGarry). Season nine will see the relationship hit some rocky patches.

STUDIO CITY, CA – January 5, 2022 – Season nine of Hallmark Channel’s beloved primetime drama series, “When Calls the Heart,” will make its compelling return with more romance and drama in store for the residents of Hope Valley, premiering on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at 9pm/8c with 12 all-new episodes!
Hope Valley is in a state of growth, with the foundry’s progress and the evolution of key relationships. The Mayoral race has the town buzzing with a few members of the town running against one another. Elizabeth and Lucas focus on their relationship beyond courtship, and as she gets to know Lucas better, she learns about his past which gives Elizabeth pause about their future.

The hit drama “When Calls the Heart” ended its eighth season on a high, with this season’s final episode (8012) ranking as the most-watched episode of the series in Households (2.9 million) and among Total Viewers (3.6 million) on a Live+3 basis. In fact, season 8 became the most watched of the series in Households, and among Total Viewers and Women 18+, with the program delivering 2.7 million Households, 3.3 million Total Viewers, and 2.4 million Women 18+. The program also ranked as the #1 original scripted series on ad-supported cable in 2021-to-date among Households and Women 18+. However, among Women 18+, the program was also this year’s #1 original series (including reality) on ad-supported cable in 2021-to-date.
With its 12 episodes, the season reached 9.5 million unduplicated Total Viewers.

My wife is thrilled that her favorite show is coming back! She has been waiting with baited breath for it’s return. Since Hallmark Channel came to You tube TV, she has been , as she calls herself, “a happy girl”. Like the saying goes, “Happy wife, happy life”.

Love ❤️ When calls the heart. I’m not a fan of Elizabeth with Lucas but I still love the show. I hope all of the cast returns AND I wish HALLMARK would bring back When Hope Calls soon. I see Lori Loughlin’s character is coming to When Hope Calls so I’m hoping it’s on after when calls the Heart.
I am so looking forward to season 9 of When Calls the Heart. I like Elizabeth and Lucas together. I hope Paul Greene will be back as Carson. I really enjoyed the development of the relationship between Carson and Faith and dI would hate to see that end. It was so natural between them. I also hope Lori Loughlin’s character Abigal returns to Hope Valley. Não gostei nada da Elizabeth ficar com o Lucas não combina nada a cena deles é muito seca, fria. Perdi um pouco o interesse.
I cant wait to see the new season of When Calls the Heart.
I hate Elizabeth’s choice. The writers initially caused viewers to have a suspicious view of him. That being said why would she choose a saloon owner to help her raise her child
Has to be Lucas, he meets her soul on so many levels, really looking forward to the next season!!

I have been a devoted fan from S1 E1 and that has never wavered. I look forward to the new characters, developing the characters we love and new stories from our beloved Hope Valley. WCTH is programming I watch with family and friends of all ages.
I will never watch another episode of WCTH after the poor writing in Season 8. The new storylines John Tinker, Brian Bird, & Erin Krakow generated destroyed the historical drama Janette Oke had written. #DepartieForever
well Brian Bird did one smart thing and brought Lori Loughlin onto the CAG networks When Hope Calls… I love the show now that Abigail is included and hope more of Hope Valley is brought in
It’s GAC. I am also happy to see Lori back, altho I prefer WCTH show & characters over HC.
I think Hallmark cancelled the wrong show. They should have cancelled WCTH instead of Good Witch. WCTH had been a trainwreck since Erin Krakow became a producer and I won’t be returning for Season 9.
