It’s official. Deadline reports the ABC TV show Whiskey Cavalier will not be returning for a second season after all.
The drama series centers on FBI Agent Will Chase (Scott Foley), codename: “Whiskey Cavalier” and CIA operative Frankie Trowbridge (Lauren Cohan), codename: “Fiery Tribune.” Although they start off as rivals, they’re soon assigned to a joint-agency task force to root out corruption and crime and save the world. The cast also includes Ana Ortiz, Tyler James Williams, Vir Das, and Josh Hopkins.
Last week, we reported that ABC was considering bringing Whiskey Cavalier back for a second season after cancelling it earlier this month. Now, it series creator David Hemingson has confirmed this will not be the case. Whiskey Cavalier will remain cancelled:

What do you think? Are you a fan of Whiskey Cavalier? Would you have watched a second season?
Typical ABC cxl good shows . Network station steeped in mediocracy.
Yes it was a fun show. Tired of reality shows.
Horrible network these days. Only crap shows, where Wiskey Cavalier had great chemistry, actors, and fun plots!!! I have been a loyal customer, but no longer!!! HGTV, Animal Planet, PBS, CBS, NBC and both Nat Geo’s here I come!!!
Guess I won’t have a reason to watch ABC this was the last chance for them they always cancel the good ones.
Never fails, start watching a great show and network pulls after 8/9 episodes. Very disappointing.
Typical ABC!!! They keep terrible shows such as The Bachelor, etc. and cancel good shows!!! What is wrong with you people!!!! This was one of the few shows I watch on ABC!!!
Too bad. Brilliant and soulful writing
Another good series cancelled, can hardly wait to see what they replace it with.
Gonna miss this show
Typical ABC, ALWAYS cancel good shows and keep the bad ones.
Very disappointed with NBC. I loved Whiskey Cavalier…..have to say, not a good move!
Loved this show. They cancel the good ones and keep the stupid ones!! Bring WC back!
ABC just keeps cancelling great shows. It breaks our hearts. Best just to avoid that network, I think.
Yes, loved this show!
Typical ABC. Cancel great shows. You do realize Neilson is not accurate. 66 years old and never as anyone asked what I watch. And why is everything 18 to 49? You think that is the only people that watch these shows? No we are not all dead after 49.
I am very disappointed in ABC. And I don’t know why they think young people watch TV shows. I don’t know anyone under 25 that watch network TV. ABC finally gets a show that I like and then they cancel it. WHY?!!!
I agree, Dave. My husband and I (50 & 51) looked forward to Whiskey Cavalier every week! And yes, we are influenced by the plethora of commercials interspersed throughout the show (despite being just outside of the coveted 18-49 age bracket)…That is afterall, the bottom line for networks.
Sad, isn’t it? I also am just outside of the 18-49 demographic. However, even though I DVR shows so that I can generally skip commercials, I make it a point to watch the commercials during any new shows that I like because I know that’s what determines whether or not a network will keep a show. Sadly, it didn’t make any difference as far as Whiskey Cavalier was concerned.
Dave, I totally agree with you. I get so tired of networks just basing their ratings on the 18-49 demographic, like anyone not in that age category doesn’t matter! The commercial viewership for marketing purposes is all they seem to care about.
ABC has done it once again. They’re consistent in
cancelling or not renewing great tv shows! Whiskey
Cavalier was a marvelous show that I really looked
forward to watching it each week. It had an excellent
cast and interesting storylines. It is very sad indeed to
learn of this show being axed by a major tv network
that is making a big mistake! Very disappointed!!!
