As of the series premiere of the Whiskey Cavalier TV show, all of the ABC television network’s returning programming is down in the Nielsen ratings, over last year, and none of its freshman offerings are an unqualified hit (save The Conners which is really the Roseanne revival’s second season). Can this new action-action adventure series improve the fortunes of the Alphabet Network? Will Whiskey Cavalier be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
An ABC spy drama, with a screwball comedy bent, Whiskey Cavalier stars Scott Foley, Lauren Cohan, Ana Ortiz, Tyler James Williams, Vir Das, and Josh Hopkins. The series centers on FBI Agent Will Chase (Foley), codename: “Whiskey Cavalier” and CIA operative Frankie Trowbridge (Cohan), codename: “Fiery Tribune.” Although they start off as rivals, they’re soon assigned to a joint-agency task force to root out corruption and crime and save the world.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/23 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Whiskey Cavalier TV series on ABC? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
*5/12/19 update: Whiskey Cavalier has been cancelled so there won’t be a second season on ABC but the studio is shopping the series elsewhere.
Love this show and the character!
Love watching this show. Love the actors and characters.
Lookie here. The live ratings Tanked again.
I love this show!!!!
The show is typical of the feminist rubbish that most modern day TV series and film makers expect us to watch and buy into. Modern tv and cinema shows are mostly role reversals with the female taking the male lead etc and most will bomb at the box office. If they must have a bad ass female who is supposed to be able to take on men twice her size and bodyweight in a fist fight, then at least get one that looks as though she could possibly fight and beat a 12 year old boy in a stand up… Read more »
That’s what 2 of my friends told me. Unfortunately, I think it will be back, but only because I don’t think Lauren Cohan would have left the Walking Dead if the show would be cancelled after 1 season, pathetic ratings or not.
My rant was not just about this Whiskey Cavalier series in particular ,I was not simply having a go at this new rubbish that is masquerading as entertainment but almost all of the new tv series and movies that keep showing tiny females around 5 feet tall weighing less than 65 kilos with a chip on their shoulders being sexist towards men and clever arsing and beating them up and beating them at everything. Men are being portrayed as soft sensitive types and or idiots while tiny females are being portrayed as tough guys and real go getters, juggling kids… Read more »
First of all, she is 5’7. It takes a few seconds to find this info. She isn’t tiny at all. Second, she learned fencing, archery, and how to use guns over her career, due to her various roles. People are fully capable of learning skills. Also, if she can play a character who fights and survives against zombies for 113 freaking episodes, I think she deserves a chance with this show. You really sound like a jerk. It’s not feminist at all to show women as powerful. You don’t seem to know what feminism means. It’s very clear from your… Read more »
I absolutely love this show! it involves everything i enjoy: spies, humor, knives, covert ops, a bad-a** woman, and i like how it made the main character different. I admit the personalities are very obvious and kinda forced, especially when you have a literal profiler who tells you everyone’s issues. But that doesnt bug me because they manage to make it humorous. I also like the actors and the episode plots, they are simple but still interesting to me. I hope it gets renewed at least one more season.
Didn’t care for Whiskey Cavalier at all. Stopped watching after second episode.
Too silly for me. Plots make no sense either.
Can not believe she left WD 4 this same olf regurgitated bs. Really hope it gets cancelled. And hope she has the chops & love for the fans to come back and do her character justice. Not just letn them write her off. Or coming back for a half an episode just to be killed. But atleast a 4-6 episode character arch. An letting us no what happened to the baby. Or introducing the baby. She really nvr should have left. I think this season was sic. The WD has easily another 3 or 5 seasons left in the tank.… Read more »
The only reason I’m guessing that it will be renewed for one more season is because I don’t think Lauren would have left TWD without a guarantee the WC would be on for 2 seasons. The live ratings are horrible and it should be cancelled. Don’t be surprised at the number of shows that ABC renews with live ratings lower than a 0.90. It will renew a lot of them.
It’s not fair of to hope the show gets cancelled. There are other people ( me included) that would love to see the show grow. Wishing something bad on the show and actors isn’t right.
This show has dropped another 10.71% of viewers in its latest aired episode in the 18 to 49 category, that is only 2.8 million viewers. This is nowhere near good enough to spawn a 2nd series. The viewers have spoken and it seems that the majority have rejected this show as entertainment.
Whiskey Cavalier is totally ridiculous ……waste of good airtime
To be honest the show is very weak and pretty stupid. For children 5+…. Scott is absolutely not a charismatic actor. He can’t even play simple scenes. Every moment with him seems fake. Lauren looks more convincing but this is still no very good. I don’t see the chemistry between the main couple. Sometimes I feel like Lauren doesn’t feel comfortable around Scott. The only thing I liked about this show – the shooting. But such a weak project does not deserve such a large budget expenditure. Hopefully, there will be only one season and Abc will create something really… Read more »
Hopefully, you will be correct in your assessment, and the show will be cancelled. I just have this feeling that it is going to be renewed, only because I don’t think that Lauren Cohan would not have left The Walking Dead without a 2 year guarantee for this show.
This suffers from the same audience-insulting obviousness as “MacGyver.” Every character interaction is an information dump – a ham-handed attempt to define personality (usually) by TELLING us that the character is afraid of intimacy, too reliant on being liked, frustrated by his behind-the-scenes role, etc., instead of weaving it into the story. Everyone is pushing so hard for the viewer to “get it” the experience is embarrassing. Ana Ortiz is the exception; she somehow manages to appear natural and deliver her lines convincingly.
The cinematography is nice.
Lightweight, formulaic, poorly acted, poorly written. Will not last one season.
Unfortunately, it will probably be renewed. ABC is coming out of the disaster called Channing Dungey(which was a disaster of their own making). They will also renew The Rookie. I don’t know what the +7 ratings are for these shows. but the live ratings so far are disastrous. I’m guessing that they guaranteed Lauran Cohan 2 seasons, or she would have stayed with The Walking Dead.
Nothing about canceling/renewing TV shows surprises me anymore.
Whiskey Cavalier reminds me of how Covert Affairs broke some similar barriers and lasted for five seasons, hopefully the same formula here will stand the test of time and devotion. Ratings or no ratings, from the first sneak preview of the pilot, for me was a keeper, not sure about others, but this show deserves the same chance Take Two had and possibly a revival of the latter. As for Lauren Cohan, I can judge her badly only if she really did something bad, so far nothing of the sort, she’s a wonderful actress and keeping her in the game… Read more »
Finally a comment I can agree with!
DITTO!
Renew, only a couple of episodes in and I’m hooked. It’s a great mix of humor, action, and suspense.
I enjoy watching this show. It different from other show. Reminds me of all the old show. Like Charlies Angels, Hart to Hart. Keep it on!!
TOTALLY AGREE!
Scott Foley is an exceptional actor as are most the cast. Not a fan of Lauren Cohan. Not sure the why the Network put this on when the last two shows Take Two & The Catch were cancelled & they were both excellent shows. I do wooish the best for everyone but unfortunately I don’t see this being a hit show.
Take Two was a fantastic show. Would watch Take Two any day over this. Sorry Take Two was cancelled.
