TV show description:
From creator Dave Hemingson, who executive produces with Bill Lawrence, the Whiskey Cavalier TV show is one part screwball comedy, two parts spy drama. The action-adventure centers on FBI Agent Will Chase (Foley), codename: Whiskey Cavalier and CIA operative Frankie Trowbridge (Cohan), codename: Fiery Tribune.
The series kicks off with Will still reeling from a breakup Gigi (Valerie Huber). She dumped him when he proposed to her, and since the entire incident was caught on camera, poor Whiskey has to relive it with not just his co-workers and friends, but his rivals and targets, as well.
While on assignment overseas, Whiskey crosses paths with Frankie, and the results are both explosive and captivating — largely because she ignites an explosion in order to cause a diversion and absconds with the target Will is supposed to bring in.
That target is Edgar Standish (Williams), a hacker extraordinaire who, in his work for the NSA, stumbled onto evidence of an enormous conspiracy involving corruption, election theft, and more. Since Edgar is a US citizen, the FBI has dibs on him, but Frankie means to take him to a CIA black-ops site, to get him to reveal the location of all the sensitive files in his possession.
Although both Will and Frankie are tough, seasoned agents, he has an open, tender side, whereas she prefers to stay out of touch with her feelings. Each one bests the other and saves the other at turns.
Sparring over custody of Edgar, Frankie and Will quickly develop a grudging respect for each other’s skills, as well as for Edgar’s determination to uncover the truth about vast government corruption. They’re soon assigned to work together on an inter-agency task force, to save the world.
The team also includes FBI profiler Susan Sampson (Ortiz), CIA gadget guru Jai Datta (Das), and FBI Agent Ray Prince (Hopkins). Together they’ll take on that task of saving the world and they just might save each other, too.
Series Finale:
Episode #13 — Czech Mate
Ollerman attempts to force the team to commit a terrorist attack for The Trust using Ray’s life as leverage. Meanwhile, Jai helps Standish deal with a revelation about Tina, and Will and Frankie come to a realization about their relationship.
First aired: May 22, 2019.
What do you think? Do you like the Whiskey Cavalier TV series? Should this ABC TV show have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
A show worth watching. I hope they bring it back.
Loved this show!!!! Wish they would bring it back.
Great show! Please don’t cancel it!
I liked the show! All the characters complimented each other and the humor was dry, but funny. BRING IT BACK! You are making a big mistake with shows that promote liberal political agendas. This was entertaining, BRING IT BACK!
renewed, it was a fun show. tired of bachelor and all the contest shows, something fun we need
Good show kinda funny with some decent plots, would watch another season
Bring back whiskey cavalier. Great series. Entertaining, excellent stories well directed and a great cast of actors.
Series Be renewed. Much better than all this fake reality TV crap that they have on. The secondary characters/actors were very entertaining.
Shouldn’t have cancelled this show. It’s the only one I watched on ABC. Very disappointing to learn tonight that it was cancelled. I think that was a bad call.
I thought this was an excellent show and was sorry to see it canceled. I liked Scott Foley in ” The Unit” and was glad to see him back on the TV Screen, Hope someone will take it on and start producing this show again. Also the other characters were great too. Liked the sparring between the two computer geeks. Thank you.
I really enjoyed this show. One of the best to come out that season and they dumped it. They should have at least gave it a chance and maybe change what night it was on! Maybe a different time slot would have attracted more viewers. A lot of people I know never heard of the show until I told them about it. I hope maybe on of the smaller networks pick it up or maybe one of the online streaming TV networks grabs it.
I really enjoyed the series. Was hoping it would be back. Why do networks cancel the good clean fun shows but keep pathetic shows like The Conners and ridiculous ones like all The Bachelor/Bachelorette ones? That’s just sad.
Please don’t cancel show I was so in the show.
I really enjoyed this show due to the simplicity of it despite all the ability to quickly become intense without overdoing it. The character dynamics were progressive in their development which added to the likable nature that was so enjoyable to watch in the myriad of location based bad guys. Just moving this show to a different evening and/or timeslot would definitely have been such a better choice than cancelling it! This show had all the trappings of being able to run the long run with good character chemistry and situational awareness comparable to the real world, much like the… Read more »
I am so upset to read this! I have been waiting for it’s return. damn. It was such a good show. Each character was so distinct yet they blended beautifully. Why do all the smart shows get cancelled?? Grrr.
Pathetic!!! Rather than canceling your best shows, perhaps you should cancel your management team who makes these decisions
