Paramount is headed back to the ranch. Today, the network announced they’ve renewed Yellowstone for a second season.
The Western drama centers on the Duttons, a family of powerful and prosperous cattle ranchers. It chronicles their shifting alliances, as well as their old grudges, and even unsolved murders. The cast includes Kevin Costner, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Gil Birmingham, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Ian Bohen, Jefferson White Danny Huston, and Josh Lucas.
Yellowstone debuted in June and so far, ratings have been promising for the Paramount drama. Five episodes in, the series is averaging a .37 rating in the 18-49 demo and 2.357 million viewers.
The season one finale of Yellowstone premieres on Paramount Network on August 22nd at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

Los Angeles, CA, July 24, 2018 – The Dutton family saga rages onward. Following record-setting viewership, the new Paramount Network today announced a second season of its hit series “Yellowstone.” Production will begin shortly on the 10-episode season which will be shot entirely on location in Utah and Montana. The season one finale bows Wednesday, August 22 at 10 PM, ET/PT, with season two premiering next year.
The critically acclaimed drama stars world-renowned Oscar(R) and Emmy(R) Award-winning actor Kevin Costner along with Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, Danny Huston and Gil Birmingham.
“Yellowstone” chronicles the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (Costner), who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Amid shifting alliances, unsolved murders, open wounds, and hard-earned respect – the ranch is in constant conflict with those it borders – an expanding town, an Indian reservation, and America’s first national park.
Oscar(R) nominated screenwriter Taylor Sheridan (“Wind River,” “Hell or High Water” and “Sicario”) returns as the showrunner and a writer for the series.
Executive producers for “Yellowstone” are John Linson, Art Linson, Taylor Sheridan, Kevin Costner and David C. Glasser. Ted Gold and Lauren Ruggiero are the executives in charge of production for Paramount Network.
Following a record-setting debut that attracted 5.3 million viewers, the series now ranks as cable’s most-watched series behind “The Walking Dead.” Season to date, the series is averaging 5 million viewers and registering a 1.4 rating with P 18-49, 2.0 P 25-54 and 1.9 W 24-54. The success of “Yellowstone” marks the six-month-old network’s third successful scripted launch in a row. Back in January, the limited-series “Waco,” which scored three Emmy(R) nominations, premiered to the best ratings for an ad-supported cable drama debut in nearly six months. In June, the network’s first scripted-comedy “American Woman,” bowed to the highest P/W18-49 and W25-54 ratings for an ad-supported cable scripted half-hour series premiere since early January.”

What Penney said…!! Yellowstone is probably the best TV show television has going for it right now. This show takes me away from all the outside worldly nonsense going on between people in this country. This show is like a great book you don’t want to put down or ever end.
I can’t wait till season 2 of YELLOWSTONE…love this program…has it all, great acting, unusual story line, beautiful views, good against the bad struggle, horses, handsome men and women, battle for money, Indian rights battle, family drama from the past and currently, family fewds, beautiful clothing, on and on…. once the show begins you’re glued to the screen. Especially, GREAT ACTING, and some great humor too!! And Kevin Coster, of course. !!

Why is American Woman not having a second season? Everyone Ive spoken to (ie Generation X & Baby Boomers ) LOVE that show! Paramount making a huge mistake if they dont renew the season. I amongst others only watched Paramount because of “American Woman” and “Yellowstone”. only watched. They need to reconsider their decision & renew both, especially “American Woman”!

I absolute LOVED the show. Is Season one going to ever come out in a series that can be bought? I don’t know what I did but apparently either only 5 shows up until you delete them or something like that. During the show time slot I was able to record it all; because it showed I had uploaded it on my TV with the help of a DirecTV technician. Now I only see the first 5 of them.
