A historical drama, The Young Pope TV series tells the controversial story of Pius XIII (Jude Law), born Lenny Belardo, and his early days as Pope. The youngest and first American pope in history, his ascension was orchestrated by the Vatican Secretary of State (Silvio Orlando). Lenny shuns him and looks to Don Tommaso (Marcello Romolo) to share details on the motives of those in his inner circle. Lenny’s mentor (James Cromwell) stews about being passed over and his friend since childhood, Sister Mary (Diane Keaton), is flown in to serve as his chief advisor. The rest of the HBO cast includes Javier Cámara, Scott Shepherd, Cécile de France, Ludivine Sagnier, and Toni Bertorelli.

Such a well-written show. The scenery and costume design were also wonderful. Very thought-provoking overall. I already miss it and hope for a season two.
I loved this series, and appreciated the scheduling for Sunday and Monday dessert… The finale did make me “smile” and to look forward to a second season…….. praying that it will not take the same fate as the True Detective………… hopefully my prayers will be answered with a returning cast for a second season next year!!
I have followed the show religiously. I really enjoy the show and its storyline. A second season would be a blessing, and a real treat for me. The story is incomplete and needs to continue. It kind of reminds me of what President Trump is going through. Only he’s having an even tougher time.

Absolutely the very best of the series that HBO has EVER presented. Do think the political things in the nation kept so many people focused on the news instead.
It would be a travesty not to run Season One again and then please do bring on Season Two. There is just no way you can cut this off prematurely.

The Young Pope is a creative and wonderful series. It captures the mystery the public has about the Pope and the Vatican. It touches on modern issues. It truly has an all-star cast. Jude Law is unbelievably awe striking with his cynasism, arrogance and quirkiness. I hope there are many seasons to come

I have been hooked on this show from early on! Just Law is an Intriguing fellow and excellent actor-and let’s face it, even in the Papal garb he looks pretty nice! I hope this goes on for at least a few seasons- I really want to see where it ends! Loving Keaton in it as well- Cromwell did well as have the supporting cast. I can see this being bigger in Europe than the U.S., but still bring it to us! And please don’t make us wait 3 extra months next time! Let us have it in October as well!

Good glory… quirky.. love Jude laws character.. as well as the rest of the cast. Wonderful for us non mainstream people who like to be moved and give us something to think about.. love the depth and emotional ride of real human conflict.. please don’t end…
