Young Wallender now has a premiere date on Netflix. The prequel drama is set in the world of the Kurt Wallender novels, but this series will show a younger version of the detective as he solves his first cases.
A British series titled Wallander aired on PBS for four seasons, from 2009 until 2016. A dozen 90-minute episodes were produced with Kenneth Branagh starring in the title role.
Netflix revealed the premiere date of the prequel series on Twitter.

More about the plot of the series was also revealed in a press release:
“In a bold and original new story set in contemporary Sweden, Young Wallander sees Henning Mankell’s iconic detective Kurt Wallander investigate his gripping first case. The story focuses on the formative experiences – professional and personal – faced by Kurt as a recently graduated police officer in his early twenties.”

I’m less than 5 mins into Epi 1 and I can see, already, what a JOKE this ‘Young Wallander’ is going to be!! So, you mean to tell me that when ‘Wallander’ was first starting out as a cop, TODAY’S Tech was being used back then?? Just under 5 mins in and I’m seeing TODAY’S CURRENT Tech devices everywhere. FAIL! And, you also want to tell us, that all of those DECADES ago, Sweden had that many blacks, gang violence and CRap ‘music’ everywhere???
