It seems that we finally have official word that Hart of Dixie has been cancelled. There won’t be a fifth season for the residents of the fictional Gulf Coast town of Bluebell, Alabama.
Hart of Dixie follows a smart and beautiful young female doctor (Rachel Bilson) from New York who becomes a general practitioner in a small town and must adjust to her new surroundings. The rest of the cast includes Scott Porter, Jaime King, Wilson Bethel, Tim Matheson, and Cress Williams.
Back in March, series creator Leila Gerstein revealed that season four of Hart of Dixie would be the drama’s last but The CW refused to make it official. According to Gerstein, the cancellation axe has now fallen for good. On Twitter, she wrote, “It’s official. But I have to add a thank you to all our amazing, inspiring fans. You are the real BlueBell. xox”
What do you think? Were you satisfied with the series finale? Would you like to see the characters return some day?
