What’s This TV Show About?
Executive produced by Vin Di Bona and Michele Nasraway, and hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro, America’s Funniest Home Videos is ABC‘s longest running primetime entertainment show. Previous hosts include Tom Bergeron, D.L. Hughley and Richard Kind, John Fugelsang and Daisy Fuentes, and the original host, Bob Saget. Regular people submit amateur videos featuring their boo boos and blunders to the competition, in hopes the studio audience will award them cash and other prizes.
Season 28 Ratings
The 28th season of America’s Funniest Home Videos averaged a 1.01 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.20 million viewers. Compared to season 27, that’s up by 9% in the demo and up by 3% in viewership. Find out how America’s Funniest Home Videos stacks up against other ABC TV shows.

Telly’s Take
Will ABC cancel or renew America’s Funniest Home Videos for a 29th season? My gut says that, unless it ends up really hemorrhaging viewers this year, this show is likely to score a renewal — maybe even through its 30th season. The Alphabet Network’s more costly scripted slate is currently its biggest concern. That said, I reserve the right to change my mind, if things take a turn. The show has three big things working for it:
1. Its cheap production cost.
2. It is owned by the network.
3. It is doing well in reruns on other networks.
WHY WHY WHY Did you move AFV out of that time-slot!!! The BIGGEST PART of that audience go to bed at 8pm and it’s a Family show time to put down the technology and gather in front of ABC at 7pm like familys have been doing since Walt disney show and Hardy boys one week Nancy Drew the next WHAY WERE YOU THINKING???
