Last season, Alfonso Ribeiro took over as the new host of America’s Funniest Home Videos. Unfortunately, the change didn’t bring in better ratings and the numbers continued to fall. Will this venerable ABC series be cancelled or will it be renewed for season 28? Stay tuned.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — typically around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/22 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

Last year comparison: The 26th season of America’s Funniest Home Videos averaged a 1.03 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.25 million total viewers.
Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you still like the America’s Funniest Home Videos TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a 28th season?
5/12 update: ABC has renewed America’s Funniest Home Videos for a 28th season for 2017-18. Details here.
It sucks with new host .. Tom was great but new host its terrible
I’m disappointed with ABC. The shows I have enjoyed on your station for years are now cancelled. It’s come to the point I only watch local news on ABC.
Come on, ABC. At least let it last for 3 more seasons.
Come on ABC…. hasn’t this stupid childish show been on long enough? Feel free to cancel this one. Who in the world is still watching this? It’s like laughing when someone gets hurt… that’s NOT funny, that’s just plain mean.
