An NBC reality TV series, Better Late Than Never follows Henry Winkler, William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw, and George Foreman as they travel the world, with both help and misdirection from tech-savvy comedian, Jeff Dye. In the second season, the celebrities journey to Munich, Berlin, Lithuania, Sweden, Barcelona, Madrid, and Morocco. There, they’ll meet up with dozens of natives and guest stars including David Hasselhoff and Al Roker, as well as Björn Ulvaeus, of ABBA.
In its first season, Better Late Than Never aired over the Summer of 2016 and averaged a 1.58 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.31 million viewers. Those were pretty healthy numbers, especially for a summer series.
This time around, NBC decided to order twice as many episodes and aired them around the holidays and as filler leading up to the Winter Olympics. That scheduling didn’t work out too well for the boys and the ratings have seen a big drop. Compared to the first season, season two is averaging a 0.89 demo rating with 4.75 million. That’s down by 44% and 35%, respectively. It’s currently one of the network’s lowest-rated shows of the 2017-18 season.
It’s unclear if NBC will cancel or renew Better Late Than Never for a third season but the numbers aren’t looking good. What is clear is that a healthy percentage of the first season’s audience isn’t watching the show on Monday nights (our readers seem to still love it).
What do you think? Are you still watching this NBC series? Would you like to see a third season of Better Late Than Never or, do you think the series should be cancelled instead?
Funniest show on television. Of course I’m not in the 18 to 49 demo. Bring it back.
RENEW! Refreshing and fun, hilarious and touching all at once. No one knew this was on, so many people catching up!!
Please renew!!!
Best show on T V!
Absolutely needs to be renewed. One of the funniest shows I have loved and enjoyed for a very long time. Many people do NOT know of it- I have told many and they have started watching it and love it also
The show is very funny. I love seeing these iconic men working together, having fun together, and bonding together. I love the fact that they can make fun about themselves . It would be fantastic if they would make a third season.
Most definitely renew! Such a great family show filled with adventure, laughter, emotions and so much laughter! Absolutely the best show I have seen a long time!! We need more shows like this. Wonderful cast!
Renew this show, funny and clean.
Couldn’tstop laughing
Renew!!! Love this show!!!!
I love this show, it is funny, entertaining, informative and down to earth. Please renew this show for Season 3
Love this show, it is heartfelt, entertaining and informative. Great, funny show! Please renew for Season 3
Not sure about the show anymore. Henry Winkler seems more about Mimi type of person now it’s just always about him and not anybody else. Hope that changes if there’s a third season
I love this show, but I liked it better in the summer, I had more time to watch it, as of now I have all episodes taped and have yet to watch them. I record so many shows and there are so many more on in the fall and winter that I watch as opposed to the summer, so it’s hard to keep up w/everything I tape. I think NBC should have left this a summer show and not tried to bring it back in the winter. Hey it’s only my opinion!!! Lol
Love, love, love this show!!! Please renew!!!
I stopped watching after beginning of season two. William Shatner is an ass, I don’t like him, thinks he’s better than anyone else. TAKE IT OFF, DON’T PLUG UP THAT TIME SLOT WITH JUNK LIKE THAT. Just watch in seas. 1 what he says about signing autographs for people, HORRIBLE just HORRIBLE
I REALLY hope they don’t cancel this show! My husband and I have gotten a big kick out of watching these guys. They’re so crazy and fun and they all have such fabulous chemistry with one another. This show has everything going for it….from the wonderful locales all over the world to the various cultures (and culture shock!) to the sense of fun and adventure! And of course the camaraderie of the guys is fabulous. This is something different from what we’re routinely (and boringly) offered in American television and it’s been a real joy to watch! I HOPE they’ll… Read more »
