A fish-out-of-water sitcom, Bless This Mess stars Lake Bell, Dax Shepard, Ed Begley Jr., Pam Grier, David Koechner, JT Neal, and Madison Curry. The single-camera comedy centers on newlyweds Mike and Rio (Shepard and Bell), after they decide to forsake the hustle and bustle of New York City for a more pastoral life in Nebraska. Once the couple arrives in cornhusker country, it doesn’t take them too long to figure out that living a simple life requires a lot of hard work. Bell co-created the series with Elizabeth Meriwether.
Airing on Tuesday nights, the first season of Bless This Mess is averaging a 0.73 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.82 million viewers.
Out of the 21 scripted ABC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, Bless This Mess is in 13th place in the demo and 12th in viewership.

I really enjoy this show! I’m 64 yrs old and while the premise reminded of Green Acres, it is indeed what Green Acres should have been. Anyway, I have thoroughly enjoyed the antics they find themselves and love the focus on personal relationships and community! I am excited to get on to Season 2 and many more!

I really like this show! I haven’t missed a single episode and never will. I especially love that they keep chickens on their farm! All good actors and so great to see a show set in rural America. Hope there are many seasons to come.

i always loved and respected the comedy of David Koechner, but after watching him in this STEAMY /PILEP……i /am /wishing /him /into /the /corn /field.
It took a couple episodes, but this one made our “keeper” list. Glad it’s been renewed

Sort of the 21st-century version of GREEN ACRES (minus the radio-series structure), and for that I’ve chosen to watch. Today’s sitcoms that are not three-camera shows are notably different from comedies of the past century in that little of their structure includes jokes, per se. This show, in particular, depends on the improv talents of Lake Bell and Dax Shepard and that can be chancy, as I’ve found such experiments more miss than hit in the past (BONNIE HUNT SHOW, PAUL REISER SHOW). I cannot believe they renewed this stupid show and cancelled the Kids Are Alright. ABC get your act together….
I love this dippy show. I do wish her Mother could be included more. She’s the reason I watch. That and whenever Dax gets partially undressed. I also hope the neighbor’s kid gets to come out of that very transparent closet he’s in.
Watched the first 2 episodes and then it lost me….I do love Lake Bell but this show just didn’t do it for me!!!!
I completely agree. We didn’t even finish watching the 2nd episode. It’s not funny in the least. Both actors deserve better.
