Despite a valiant effort, The Brave TV show has been cancelled by NBC. In this instance, the 13-episode first season wasn’t a sign of certain cancellation, as a shorter season aways the plan for this series. In November, after some early gains in the Nielsens, the Peacock Network was even touting the show’s ratings, but they later dropped off and weren’t strong enough to score a season two renewal.
An NBC military drama, The Brave stars Anne Heche, Mike Vogel, Natacha Karam, Demetrius Grosse, Noah Mills, Hadi Tabbal, Tate Ellington, and Sofia Pernas. The series centers on Captain Adam Dalton (Vogel) who leads his Special Ops squad on dangerous field missions across the globe. Back in their Washington D.C. headquarters, D.I.A. Deputy Director Patricia Campbell (Heche) oversees the unit which provides support and analysis for Dalton and company.
The Brave: A Look at the Ratings
The first season of The Brave averaged a 0.92 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.62 million viewers. Find out how The Brave stacks up against other NBC TV shows.
The Brave cancellation has been confirmed by Deadline, which notes three military dramas premiered on broadcast networks, this year. Although both The Brave and Valor (The CW) were cancelled, SEAL Team was renewed for a second season on CBSCBS.
What do you think? Did you like The Brave TV series? Did you think NBC would cancel or renew it for a second season?
A good show that deserves another season watched or recorded each show . To bad the network doesn’t give it credit for a strong following to build on.
So very sad this show was cancelled.Especially after I just watched 12 Strong! Very similar in it’s depth, commitment, honesty and top notch actors. I even liked the home base team better on The Brave. It would be awesome for another network to pick it up.(not like ridiculous Brooklyn 9-9)
So disappointed. Our family had it on our calendar every week and never missed it.
The Brave was one of my favorite new shows. PLEASE reconsider. I loved Anne Heche in this new role. It was much better than Seal Team.
I can’t believe NBC cancelled this show! It was way better than the other two military shows. Like the person wrote what we don’t need is another game show or another “let’s get the gang together and put on a show!”
Great show. Who do we write to protest. I am in. Another dumb game show is not what is needed.
Can’t believe this! This show was a cut above all others. There were a lot of loyal fans, and it would have grown, for sure, had more people known about it. Cancellation of this show reflects poorly on the network, but putting it back on would definitely result in a good thing for the network. This is a ’24’-type show.
This seems like a huge error – The Brave was a far better show than either Valor or Seal Team. I’ve been anxiously awaiting its return but now this??? I don’t understand how network executives can keep inferior programming while allowing a poorly written and indifferently acted substitute to remain.
What ine world are they thinking! This show is Awesome! My husband & I watched The Brave every week and also Seal Team….
BRING THE BRAVE BACK!!! We are 65….LOVE IT!
Love, love, love this show! I cannot believe that NBC cancelled The Brave!!! I have been watching and waiting for news on whether or not they would get a chance for season 2. Same thing happened with Ransom on CBS and finally after many complaints from fans, they renewed! Maybe if we bug them enough, they will give The Brave a 2nd chance.
We think The Brave was the absolute best of the three military ops series!!!! More than sorry to see it end!!!
The worst part of the cancellation of a really good show is the fact that the idiotic reality(more like non reality) shows get to stay in great time slots and for season after season! Maybe if we get away from those mind numbing , stupid shows and really work on providing shows with substance that adults can relate to all ratings would go up. As it is I am building my movie library because Television is no longer as interesting.
I loved The Brave! One of the beat shows out there in a sea of ridiculous scripted “reality shows.” Such a shame!
I really liked the Brave, I would be happy if it went to another network.
I am quite surprised and very disappointed that The Brave has been cancelled. It was my favorite new show and I was looking forward to season two.
