TV show description:
A family comedy, the Broke TV show follows a single suburban mother named Jackie (Perrette) who’s struggling to make ends meet while raising her young son, Sammy (Corbo).
Their lives are turned upside down when Jackie’s estranged sister, Elizabeth (Leggero); her sister’s big-hearted, Latin husband, Javier (Camil); and Javier’s fiercely loyal assistant/driver/friend, Luis (Diaz), land on her doorstep. The threesome is in need of a place to live after Javier’s outrageously wealthy father cuts them off.
Though class differences may separate the women, and the size of the house and the number of people living in it will test the limits of hospitality, the bond of extended family might be exactly what they need.
Episode #13 — Sammy’s Party
When Sammy’s birthday party location suddenly falls through, the family rushes to set up the celebration in the backyard and is surprised by an unexpected guest. Also, Javier and Elizabeth decide to look for their own apartment. Kyle Bornheimer returns as Barry, Jackie’s ex-husband and Sammy’s father.
First aired: June 25, 2020.
What do you think? Do you like the Broke TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
love this show it needs to be given a chance
Perrette is quirky and funny. She and Diaz truly make the show. I believe they should be given another chance.
It’s a fun family series and a. I’ve diversion from all the coronavirus news.
I enjoy this new series. We need s little diversion from the coronavirus, which is all we hear. Please don’t cancel it. Thank you.
Watching Izzy Diaz on the Netflix show “Bosch”. He was terrific on Broke and deserved a second season. Too bad Perrette looked terribly unattractive in the show.
I don’t understand the reviews. I thought this show was lightheartedly funny. I loved it. I’m about to give up on regular tv. Every time I like something they cancel it.
Awful show. I am so disappointed. I loved “Abby” in NCIS. I cannot understand why she would be part of this poorly written, no script, unpleasant group of of people. It is definitely off my list. Two shows is more than enough. Such a sad representation for an actress.
This show lacks being a well-scripted comedy, I can’t stand when the Latin cast starts speaking Spanish not what I need to hear. I am a Spanish American born person and remember another comedy Television show that did the same thing and did not last a full season. All and all this show lacks humor which I am a fan of when done well. I Tried watching it one more time and halfway through 15 minutes of visual and audio pain I had to change the channel.
I really enjoyed the show. Pauley Perrette is proving to be a wonderful comedic actress.. All of the actors make the grade. The show proves how a family can come together despite childhood feuds.. Broke is fun well acted and if the ratings keep up a CBS hit for Thursday night that once belonged to NBC.
this has got to be the WORST ,scripted, written, and acted sitcom in the last 10 years, its BAD…this “formula / plot” has been done to death and never really works to begin with, bit THIS version of the “struggling family getting visited by rich members now broke” is terrible, casting is horrifying, perrette is NOT a comedic actress, leggero cnt act, was barely funny as a comedian, and proves it here….in MY opinion, i say stay away and dont waste your time watching this terrible show, let it fade away quickly and be forgotten.
The show was brainless and stupid. I definitely will not be watching it again. Again another senseless show. Pauley should have stayed with NCIS. It made her famous and a millionaire.
Pretty awful!
The first half of the Pilot was sophomoric, forced, extremely far-fetched, and tedious. There is nothing new here, just a lot of cliches. The laugh track is obnoxious and distracting. The second half was a little better as it wasn’t trying as hard and you saw a little bit more character development. It is not a smart sitcom like Mom, Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, or Modern Family.
I love the new show Broke! All of the actors are perfect for the storyline. A delightful family show!
My husband and I actually laughed out loud several times during pilot episode. I like how wealthy sister eventually succumbed to her basic working class roots and used tools and resorted to rough and tumble physical displays. Her husband is so handsome, charming and not brightest bulb on planet. His relationship w nephew and manservant.
I think the show has good possibilites.
