NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

Cancel Chase? …big mistake…great show…should be given time to find an audience..it is a winner….NBC…get it together!
Rather than preempt CHASE preempt MINUET TO WIN – all these reality shows are
not entertaining – my husband and I turn off these reality shows and so called comedy
shows; bring back JORDAN and CHASE!!!!
Me and my family absolutely love chase! It needs to stay on!
chase tv show is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! need to continue airing the show
I liked Chase, thought it was well done and kept our interest for an hour. Would certainly like to see it again, between that and a stupid game show guess what I wont be watching.
Try to find a time slot that it fits and put it back on.
I love this show. It is very entertaining. Please give it a chance.
Chase was about the only NBC program running that we watched. Sorry to see it go.
I have gradually warmed up to this show. Keep it on. I was looking forward to recording tonights episode and now I see Minute to Win It is on. Lame. Give it a chance. The chemistry between Jimmy and Annie was really heating up.
its a great show ….you keep moving it and its hard to find
I think the show would have better ratings if they would not bounce it all over the place. The few episodes aired were good shows. I wish they would give it a fair chance.
I loved the TV show “Chase” and will miss it!! I can only stand to watch 2 or 3 shows on regular network TV and Chase was one of them. NBC never really gave it a chance. There was virtually no advertisment for it and then the show kept getting pre-empted or moved around or just not shown during the time slot it was scheduled for with no explanation……talk about trying to make it HARD for fans to watch the show. If NBC doesn’t have the nerve to air a smart, well written series with a strong woman and great… Read more »
I think you should bring it back!!! If it was not succeeding, could it have something to do with the time slot placement. Chase is a good Thursday show I liked it but you cannot put it up against “V” an established show with a huge following and expect it to take off.
Give the show a chance. This is about the only show i still watch on your network .
I also enjoyed the show, and when I had to miss it, I always made sure I caught up with it
on Hulu or NBC. Too bad this interesting and fast moving series had to fall prey to
another mindless gameshow. Enough already!!
These TV execs have gone bonkers. Minute To Win It? Should be Minute To Watch It.
Show here. Show there. Absolutely no loyalty to the viewer. Wish I could have a job moving things around, playing games, hide and seek. Oh wait, I’m a SAHM … I do! 🙂
I need Annie’s boots to kick some Hollywood butt.
