NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

I truly enjoyed watching Chase and will definitely miss it. Hope it is put back on the air.
Hope NBC will wise up and bring Chase back. I don’t like all the reality shows, but do enjoy a show with a strong woman as the lead character. The mistake in the beginning was placing it against the top prime time shows…given some time and good marketing, this show could be a winner for them.
I can not beleive they canceled this show…I am so sick of reality shows and game shows. This was a very good show and has been left in limbo…thanks for nothing NBC!!
i love the show… they needed to leave it at one spot…. we kept watching for it and then a silly basketball game preempted it!!! please keep it on the air… really looking forward to it!
NBC just cannot get it right. They give us a great show, like Chase, and then put this brand new show up against the 2 hottest shows on TV in its original time slot – then they wonder why it doesn’t get the ratings…? Idiots.
I loved this show! I’m sorry it’s not still on. I have it programed in my DVR and when I got to watch my shows back I look for it every week and realize that once again they didn’t play it. I think this was a great show and they need to give it more attention and put it back on the air.
It reminds me of Southland in that the network didn’t want to keep that one and now look…TNT has it and it’s HUGE! Don’t make the same mistake NBC!
I really enjoyed Chase. I liked the actors alot however the
writing of the series was weak in comparision to other shows
that are similiar. Some of the last shows seems to have improved…..Would love to see it back. Thanks.
The people at NBC must be a bunch of idiots. If you want to know why nobody seems to watch the show? NBC has nothing but a bunch of CRAP on, so when they have a good TV show on there’s no audience to watch it. Bring back TV like it used to be, not the reality crap that now takes up the share of the time on network TV. I also agree with one of the comments, I record everything so I don’t have to watch there worthless commercials so maybe they should count the viewers that record.
I really like the show and would like at least for them to air the episodes to bring closure with Annie’s kidnapping and war with the Mexican cartels.
It proves once again that the networks and NBC in particular NBC have no clue.
Hill Street Blues was not accepted early on but did become a winner once it was given time. Same was true with Crime Story. Give it a chance and write some good material
My wife and I are in our 70s and enjoyed Chase.
Leave it to NBC to cancel a good show !
All they bring to television are reality shows which I have no interest in whatsoever. When will network heads realize that adults 40 and over are the ones that are home watching tv and have no interest in those stupid reality shows. At least the people I’ve spoken to have no interest in them. They’d rather have Minute to Win It on tv then a quality tv program.
WTF!!!! I just read the info about Chase and possibly not coming back on!!!! I am pissed and my husband is to!!!! How can networks just leave us fans hangin!!! I hope it gets back on tv but at least air the 5 episodes or put it on dvd or netflix!
So do us people that record from DVR’s not count towards the ratings? If that is the case maybe that should be looked at.
i will definitely miss chase, its the only series i watch on tv.
I miss the show also. It was really good.
