NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.

I really like Chase. It was the 21st century version of Walker, Texas Ranger. No, it wasn’t the best thing on TV, but for purely entertainment value, wasn’t that bad. I hate to see it pulled, at least until it had the opportunity to run the full 22 episodes. At least it didn’t suffer the same fate as Lone Star, at least not nearly so quickly.
Thought the show was goood. Every time I get into a show they cancel it! The problem is it is opposite Hawaii Five O! I was watching Chase On Demand every week. I am sick of stupid game and reality shows.
Best NBC drama….so, of course , they jack with the schedule so even fans have to hunt for it. Give folks a chance to lock on!
I love the TV show Chase. i hope they put the anaired esipodes bak on nbc. that is the only show i watch on that network anyway. come on nbc. put the bak chase. who want to was another esipodes of “minutes to win it” i don’t even watch that.
I wasn’t too keen on this show originally but it got much better as they added character development. It’ll be missed.
I’m agreeing with Alek. I am so getting sick of falling in love with shows on NBC and they just yank it. Starting to really piss me off. They need some new execs on NBC or something. I THINK THE SHOW SHOULD BE GIVEN “ANOTHER CHANCE” I WATCHED EVERY EPISODE SINCE IT WAS AIRED. TO MY WIFE AND I IT WAS JUST AS GOOD AS “PRISONBREAK” WHAT A LOSE TO WEEKNIGHT TV.
Please keep Chase – I am tired of brainless game and reality shows
I’m so disappointed! Absolutely love this show! You let go of Medium and several others I liked and now we have comedies that are not at all funny and reality shows. Big whoop! Please keep Chase on! It is a great show with great characters whom have wonderful chemistry working together. And find a final time slot for it and keep it there. Quit this bouncing it around all over the place!
I loved that show because it was full of action and the head of the group was a woman and she was doing a good job along with her followers. NBC needs to take another look at the series again because you will lose alot of viewers.

Great show and cast……….have missed seeing it. Reminds me a lot of Walker Texas Ranger plus Chuck Norris could be brought into the show as a retired Texas Ranger to help on cases now and then. Hope they give this another try and a good time slot and station……has great potential. NBC needs to step up a notch and keep some decent shows……Minute to Win It gets old…caught a few minutes of it…………..like Guy better at Diners and Dives plus it’s getting to be about female/male eye candy and zooming in on body parts. Although my daughter loves the show and we watched it reliably, it didn’t take 5 minutes to realize that it was a “cops and robbers” series written by women trying unsuccessfully to appeal to a largely male demographic.
WHAT! I will honestly never watch this network again…Minute to Win It is so boring. My husband and I absolutely love Chase! BRING IT BACK!
