NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

I enjoyed the show and had it saved on my PVR in case I was not at home..
I want it to return! I liked this show…….a lot……please bring it back!!
Just another unrealistic girl cop show, had to go.
I’m not being mean, but women cops can be just as good as male cops. We have some really great ones in the town I live in!
Bring her back please!!
I loved the show Chase – I looked forward to watching it every time it was on – I think that the chemistry between the main man and lady cop was very intense and that is what made it so exciting to watch – one day I went to watch it and it was not on – I kept looking every week for 4-5 weeks and then I heard it was cancelled – I have been so disappointed and I hope that this series starts again – perhaps it is better to be on during prime time and not 10:00… Read more »
One of the good shows – excellent stars and conten; it beats reality and silly sitcoms – bring it back
I miss the show Chase, maybe the ratings went down because of the it wasn’s advertised that the show moved to a different channel. put move effort into promoting it.
I loved the show and am very disappointed they cancelled it. I’m sick to death of the reality shows!
I have to agree with you reallity shows have taken over way to much!!!!
I liked the show and as stated previously there is too much competition.
I loved the show Chase. Im very disappointed that its cancelled.
I loved the show and the stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just watched the complete first season to find out there’s no 2nd season coming… IT SUCKS! I absolutely LOVED it!
I’ll miss chase. I loved watching a show set in Texas where I live!
CHASE WAS A VERY GOOD SHOW BUT I GUESS STUPID REALITY SHOWS SELL
I loved the show…the reason shows don’t do well today is there is just too much on television and it is tough to keep track of when things are on…then you have shows like American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, X Factor, America’s Got Talent that run for part of the year…we miss the days when we watched the shows for six months from September to February then reruns from March to August. Shows don’t get a chance to catch on before they are canceled…everything is just too fast these days nothing is around long enough to get our attention.
