The premiere was down by 50%, when compared to last season’s debut. However, that was on a Monday night and this season’s debut was on opposite the 7th World Series game so we’ll have to wait until next week to get a good idea of how many people are truly tuning in. Having said that, this is still a lousy start for the season.
Reference point: The 2010-11 season averaged a 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.19 million viewers.
Note: These ratings are collected by the Nielsen company and are the final national numbers. These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings and are reported on by most other outlets. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.

morgan dont have the intersect anymore it was removed
I was just as upset as everyone else with Morgan getting the Intersect, but in hindsight now I’m thinking it’s a pretty ok arch, specially since it was all just Chuck’s good luck that he wasn’t the one putting those shades on that time. Ok trying not to spoil it just incase someone hasn’t seen the shows, but everyone who has seen the episodes, you know what I mean
LOVE the show. I am first in line to buy the DVDs soon as they are released and I watch marathons of Chuck every other month. If there was anyway… Read more »
I really hope they get to keep going as long as they want to. i plan on watching as long as they keep going and buy every season they come out with already have the first two.
the show jumped the shark when Vlokoff’s daughter went crazy with “revenge”! they really messed up the show from then on!
The season started off weak for 2 episodes…which was building for the next 2 episodes which were fantastic! I thought Chuck had 5-7 seasons worth of good story…personally I think 6 seasons would have been great…but I would rather end on 5 seasons than end up as a show that went on too long. And although Morgan in the 1st 2 episodes was annoying as hell, there has been payoff over the last 2 episodes in my book.
Giving Morgan the intersect is as bad as when they took Peter Petrelli’s powers away.
I don’t agree with the above comments. What is the point, where is the conflict if Chuck has the intersect? It would be the same old, same old plot line. At least this mixes it up. Plus we’ve gotten to see what effect the intersect has on other people. Has everyone forgotten what the pre-intersect experiments did with Hartley Winterbottom, aka Alexei Volkoff? Maybe the intersect is having the same sort of effect on Morgan, which is why he’s becoming a little power-hungry. Or he’s the same “wants to save the day and be the hero” Morgan and that’s why… Read more »
They’ve ruined this show with giving the idiot the intersect. Why would they be so stupid in it’s final season. Might as well cancel it now. It was one of my favorites but now I’ve stopped watching it.
I alway’s loved Chuck and was loyal..BUT, why in the world did they end up with making Morgan the intersect. I agree with Daves’ comment above…He nailed it…IDIOTIC….. =(
I love Chuck but I prefer a strong ending rather than the previous seasons’ patterns of ending upon prologues. If I were a NBC executive I would have cancelled Chuck at the end of season 2 regardless of the fan campaign, so many thanks to NBC for their mercy.
This was one of my family’s favorite shows. Please note the WAS. The producers and writers have ruined this show by giving that idiot Morgan the interesect. Did they forget the name of the show is CHUCK not Idiot. I will be dropping this show from my DVR list unless they get some intelligence and give the intersect back to the star of the show CHUCK. I waited through several season to see Chuck mature into being able to handle and use this power and now they want to take us back to the beginning with an even bigger idiot… Read more »
amen bro!
I’m saddened to hear that they want to cancel “chuck” I have always lookd forward to the show every season. I want it to come back, for sure. I love the characters and love the whole nerd going spy thing. Chuck kept me coming back to see what else he was going to do next and love seeing Casey’s annoyed face and comments. KEEP THIS SHOW GOING ….!!!! PLEASE
I am really disappointed with the first two episodes of “Chuck”! Since this is the last season, and there are only thirteen episodes, it seems ridiculous to change it so drastically! Chuck has always been the intersect – he should still be the intersect or attempting to get the intersect! In the first seasons, they made a big deal about how much intelligence and brain capacity one had to have in order for the intersect to work, which is why it worked in Chuck’s head! Are we supposed to believe that Morgan just happens to be as smart Chuck, he’s… Read more »
I would like to see chuck get renewed or at least get an extended season
I really want to see Chuck return next year. It is becoming harder to find a good TV program that is not reality shows.
