Based on the book by Bruce Feiler, the Council of Dads TV show follows the Perry clan and their extended surrogate family.
Scott Perry (Scott) is a loving father of five who has his entire life’s plan thrown into upheaval by an unexpected health scare. After being diagnosed with cancer, he and his wife call on a few of their most trusted friends to step in as back-up dads to help guide and support his growing family – just in case Scott can’t be there to do it himself.
Committed bachelor Anthony Lavelle (Standen) is Scott’s oldest and most loyal friend. Larry Mills (O’Neill) is Scott’s tough-love AA sponsee. Doctor Oliver Post (Richards) is Scott’s dedicated oncologist and his wife’s dearest friend.
Scott’s immediate family includes his wife, Robin (Callies), adult daughter Luly (Weaver), son Theo (Anthony), son JJ (Chapman), and adopted daughter Charlotte (Tran).
Together, this group discovers that there’s more to being a father than anyone could do alone — and more to being a family than they ever thought possible.
Episode #10 — Fight or Flight
Anthony arrives at the storm-ravaged Perry home to find Robin and Theo in peril, and Oliver puts all his medical skills to work when Sage goes into early labor. Meanwhile, the future of the Crab Shack is left hanging in the balance from the storm damage and the Perry kids grapple with the stunning news about Luly. Hilarie Burton and David Walton guest star.
First aired: July 2, 2020.
What do you think? Do you like the Council of Dads TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
I am SO disappointed that this show with such heart and diversity has been cancelled. It is one of the very few shows on television worth watching. Wonderful story lines, excellent acting, and such a timely example on how to treat one another Big mistake to cancel it.
linda ting
NO WAY should this show be cancelled. The best new show in a few years. If the good dr. That is a single I hr subject repeated every week for years we have reached a new low in taste. The networks are losing to the new streaming and bad decisions like this are why. DONT CANCEL
Another big disappointment. I’ll never understand why such good tv programs fall by the way side. You need to give it a chance and promote it more. Another season will attract more viewers……. promise!

Soooooo disapointed that Council of Dads has been cancelled.
I was really disappointed to hear this show was canceled. I loved the concept and all of the characters. The dads that served as the council were amazing in their own rite. Sure wish they would decide to bring it back.
I am really disappointed that this show was canceled. I really enjoyed it. The concept was heartfelt and I loved all the characters. Sure wish they would bring it back.
One of the best new shows around. If it stays around it will be as big as This Is Us. Only problem is a lot of people haven’t seen it, yet.
Really like this show. We were late in starting it, but are now caught up. Really counting on watching it the fall

This is a Beautiful show with real-life issues.
It’s entertaining and so moving with likeable characters. I would Love to see it renewed for a second season. Too many shows are cancelled prematurely.
I like it. I hope it sticks around.
I actually liked Council of Dads. But once I start getting invested in a new show it gets cancelled. Hope that doesn’t happen here.
