It looks like its case closed for fans of the Deputy TV series. FOX has decided not to order a second season of the Thursday night TV show for the 2020-21 season.
A crime drama, Deputy stars Stephen Dorff as Bill Hollister, a fifth-generation lawman who is thrust into the role of Los Angeles County Sheriff after the elected sheriff dies. The show’s cast also includes Yara Martinez, Brian Van Holt, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Shane Paul McGhie, and Mark Moses.
The first season of Deputy averaged a 0.58 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.67 million viewers. Deputy had a mediocre start in the ratings when it launched in January but the ratings slid downward over the course of the season. The show’s 13th and final installment aired last week.
Deputy is FOX’s second-lowest rated dramatic series of the season. The lowest-rated drama, Almost Family, has already been cancelled.

What do you think? Have you seen the Deputy TV series? Would you have watched season two?
Please, please, please don’t cancel Deputy. It’s the best show on tv. I have all my friends watching.
I enjoyed the show, I hope someone picks it up.
This show is awesome. Get off your butts Fox and renew Deputy . Cancelling this will be the biggest mistake since losing Married with Children
Deputy was one of our favorite shows to watch, I was bummed to hear there won’t be a second season.
Deputy is a great show I was not able to watch it on Thursday night do to work think goodness for on demand I have watched all of them twice and was looking forward to season 2 hopefully someone will pick it up they always take the descent show off to keep the crap on
They always cancel the good shows and keep the crap going!!! Keep the Deputy on!
There are so many programs/ shows that have very little character to them that keep running, and networks always seem to cancel the great ones. FOX, Deputy was one of the good ones that should stay, but you cancelled it and kept other subpar shows. Bad choice!!!!!!
I agree give the show more time and a better time slot. I enjoyed the show. I hope another network picks it up.
I retired from law enforcement and thought this show had a great cast and very good story line that developed some meat for the characters. What I enjoyed even more was the cultural sides of the cast families. Today all we here is you don’t know or understand anything about our culture. By showing side you expose to many an understanding. You should be proud of this aspect. You instead cancel. Very sad, unfortunate, and money driven. Too bad for us.
Really enjoyed this show and I used to be in law enforcement. I’m with so many of the other folks on here that networks often don’t give a show enough time or the right slot to find their audience. Along with a huge lack of advertising. The execs don’t seem to care that it’s something folks enjoy watching – it’s all about the money for them.
Definitely UPSET about the the decision to cancel Deputy! Great show, awesome cast, good story lines. FOX, you made a BIG mistake in cancelling. You could have given the show a better time and day. Hopefully, Paramount will recognize the amount of disappointed viewers, and pick the show up on their network. When you have a show that casts a diversity of ethnic characters and their cultural events, and shows the characters in positive images, you have a successful show! You dropped the bucket too soon. You also left millions of viewers in limbo! Shame on you Fox. Paramount, please… Read more »
That sucks that this is cancelled!!! Why? What a great show with good morals and a show my
Husband and I loved and watched together
It is a great show with very good characters and story line. Let’s give it one more season to bring up the ratings. Maybe take a look at another time slot to boost ratings. One season is not enough for a great show!
Deputy is a good tv drama, and gets cancelled after a short time…, so they can show crappy fake reality shows and 1/2 hr sit com’s that suck.
Love this show
