It looks like its case closed for fans of the Deputy TV series. FOX has decided not to order a second season of the Thursday night TV show for the 2020-21 season.
A crime drama, Deputy stars Stephen Dorff as Bill Hollister, a fifth-generation lawman who is thrust into the role of Los Angeles County Sheriff after the elected sheriff dies. The show’s cast also includes Yara Martinez, Brian Van Holt, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Shane Paul McGhie, and Mark Moses.
The first season of Deputy averaged a 0.58 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.67 million viewers. Deputy had a mediocre start in the ratings when it launched in January but the ratings slid downward over the course of the season. The show’s 13th and final installment aired last week.
Deputy is FOX’s second-lowest rated dramatic series of the season. The lowest-rated drama, Almost Family, has already been cancelled.

FOX made a mistake in cancelling this series. Our family really enjoyed tuning in every week. One of the only good new shows to come out.

Shame on Fox network for cancelling Deputy. Don’t care for reality shows. To much fake drama. Give me something entertaining.
We were late to discover Deputy, but loved it. Fox never gave it a chance but keeps showing losers. The reason we were late to find it is Fox doesn’t have a great line up of shows.
I sure hope someone else picks this show up. Way to many stupid reality shows. At least this was a great change from other cop shows, and I never hardly ever watched fox network. And then I started to and then you reminded me why I quit watching that network.
I’m in utter shock right now, my family couldn’t wait to watch this every week. Someone made a HUGE mistake cancelling this show. Maybe the network will recognize their HUGE mistake and bring it back
I can’t believe Deputy has been cancelled. I couldn’t wait for it to come on on Thursday night. I never missed an episode. All the good shows get cancelled.
I really enjoyed watching it. Wished it would come back for season 2. There are a lot un answered questions. Not cool to leave viewers hanging.
