It looks like its case closed for fans of the Deputy TV series. FOX has decided not to order a second season of the Thursday night TV show for the 2020-21 season.
A crime drama, Deputy stars Stephen Dorff as Bill Hollister, a fifth-generation lawman who is thrust into the role of Los Angeles County Sheriff after the elected sheriff dies. The show’s cast also includes Yara Martinez, Brian Van Holt, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Shane Paul McGhie, and Mark Moses.
The first season of Deputy averaged a 0.58 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.67 million viewers. Deputy had a mediocre start in the ratings when it launched in January but the ratings slid downward over the course of the season. The show’s 13th and final installment aired last week.
Deputy is FOX’s second-lowest rated dramatic series of the season. The lowest-rated drama, Almost Family, has already been cancelled.

What do you think? Have you seen the Deputy TV series? Would you have watched season two?
This is a decent story with some great characters and a very good all American message. Each episode leaves a viewer with an important life message. So few shows can do the same. Please bring back Deputy!!!
BOYCOT FOX. LOVED THIS SHOW
Deputy was a program my whole family watched and enjoyed. I can’t believe that it was cancelled after only 3 months. It was not given enough time to even get it’s footing.
it needs brought back and given a fair shot. It needs started at the beginning of a season and ran all season to really give it a chance to catch on.
Please bring back thiis show. My husband an I loved it.it. Looked forward to it every week. We were disappointed it was canceled.
Yes would have watched season 2 I DoNot believe Fox should have cancelled it! But look who owns Fox channel now( Disney – ( World of Fantasy company)! I watched it faithfully because of two characters , Sheriff Hollister(Stephen Dorff) and Detective Cade Ward( Brian Holt). The writers of those two characters and the men who played those two roles is what made Deputy stand out. Although I believe the writers intentionally were too politically correct with some of the characters in the show, they did manage to at least make those roles, in an episode or episodes of substance,… Read more »
Yes love it why
i watched the show every week. i couldnt wait to see what would happen next. I liked stephens character. an honest, compassionate person in a mismanaged world. i hope someone picks it up.
Fox not renewing is a huge mistake. It’s closer to the truth than fiction which could be a reason it’s not returning. CBS or ABC should pick it up.
Remember NBC dropped JAG before CBS had it for 9 more years.
I loved this series, I usually watched it later on that following night or within a couple days. You always cancel the good shows and that was one of em. The Deputy was also a very good looking man. Shouldn’t have cancelled ur loss and mine.
I have watched this on Hulu! It is amazing I think it is a great show if fox don’t renew I hope Hulu or Netflix picks it up! I think it is to good of a show not to continue!

Bring back Deputy. Loved this show and was excited and anxiously waiting for season 2. One of the best drama shows and they cancel it in favor of other shows that are so silly and don’t make since.
I loved this show! Can’t believe Fox cancelled one of the best shows they had and kept some of the other ridiculous ones they air. bring it back!!!
