As we reported earlier, Netflix has cancelled Disjointed. Now, the cast and crew are sharing their thoughts on the TV series’ cancellation.
From Chuck Lorre, the comedy centers on Ruth (Kathy Bates), the proud proprietor of a Los Angeles-area marijuana dispensary. The cast also includes Dougie Baldwin, Elizabeth Ho, Chris Redd, Tone Bell, Aaron Moten, Elizabeth Alderfer, Betsy Sodero, Nicole Sullivan, Michael Trucco, and Mae Harrington.
On social media, Disjointed star Michael Trucco as well as showrunner David Javerbaum and producers Ron Hart and John D. Beck shared their thoughts on the Netflix series’ cancellation.

What do you think? Have you seen Disjointed? Do you think it deserved a second season?
I cannot believe Disjointed has been cancelled! So disappointed in the fact that one- this was a very funny show, whether you get high or not; and 2- what a loss for a chance to educate those who don’t get high or only know it as something you smoke, & don’t realize all the benefits behind it, & different ways to approach it & take it (even without the high of THC, but still the benefits of CBD & what it does for pain relief). The PSA of the football players was a great start, but there is SO MUCH… Read more »
I fully agree. Sadly I was late to the show and just discovered it in March. We couldn’t get enough. In fact it was watching this show that educated me on the pain relief side of it. I am sensitive to THC but started taking a higher concentration of CBD and felt wonderful. A nice side-effect was that it also helped me with some anxiety that I had just grown to accept. I loved that this show portrayed Ruth as a healer. This show was really the first to delve into the health benefits.
I was shocked to see a show on this topic that didn’t have people jumping off buildings, and laughing wildly as they committed mass suicide! The show barely had an opportunity to grow and develop storylines. This was a bold move, with a dynamite writer/producer, in Lorre. Is Jeff Sessions on the approval board? Any show that’s just fun to watch has no chance. If it’s all about spreading fear and paranoia, they put CSI in front of it, and it runs for a decade. No biggie. You’re nothing new. They’ve been doing this with great new shows since the… Read more »
This is also the first stoner movie/show that was actually funny. It only had Dank and Dabby that were classic potheads (still funny). I personally think this show was a great representation of the pot community
They should make it into a series on youtube. Or maybe if not a full show like small segments or bits using the characters. I AM VERY SAD
this show was amazing. the amount of times i almost peed myself laughing so hard is actually unbelievable. i would like the writers to know that they did an amazing job with this show and the amount of time me and friends spent watching it over and over was one of the best times we have ever had. each time we rewatched an episode we found something that we didn’t notice before and just went histerical. we are so upset that the show has been cancelled, hopefully netflix comes to their senses sooner than later because the genuine disappointment that… Read more »
Gutted! It was amazing & netflix are bowing to “professional critics” that continue to pan all new content due to fear of this new media platform. Shame on netflix, im ending my subscription
I may be right behind you. They started out great, but have turned into a Jeff Sessions nightmare.

WHERE IS THE PETITION
Found it. There are several, but start here. I’m going to sign all of them.

It figures. I fall in with love with a show on Netflix and they cancel it. Stoner movies or shows aren’t my first go to, but I found myself laughing out loud through out most every show. I thought it was very ground breaking for the current political situation as well as informative for the general population who just view pot at a gateway drug. It really shined a light on the positive impact that it can have on people’s lives for both recreational and medicinal purposes. Maybe HBO or someone will pick it up. Look at Star Trek..that was… Read more »
Man!!! I started watching the show last night and it is, by far, one of THE funniest shows I’ve ever watched!! I binge watched like 5 episodes and I died laughing the entire time!! I’m so bummed that it’s been cancelled!!!
It really sucks that the show will not continue. ..it was such a funny show and I am disappointed that I won’t get to see more of it and have more laughs…because we really need more shows like this.
As Kathy Bates’ #1 Fan, I think it totally stinks!!!! I contacted Netflix as soon as I heard about this last Thursday and they told me it was probably the creators that decided not to make anymore episodes. I want answers as to why they decided that. I thought with pot now legalized for recreational use in California, they would have more customers allowing for many more ideas for upcoming episodes.
Absolutely deserved a second (and third) season. Why have they pulled it ? Poitically incorrect ? Sheldon Adelson doesn’t like it ?
I’ve been waiting for that second season since the last episode of the first. It’s a great show with an awesome cast!
I watched the first episode and it looked promising. However I was very disappointed that they decided to use canned laughter. Really? I thought that had ended years ago. I found that just too annoying to sit through. It didn’t sound like a live audience either. I just sounded fake. Too bad they didn’t trust their audience to be able to figure out when to laugh. Maybe the producers thought their audience consisted of stoners who wouldn’t know it was a joke unless they got their faces rubbed in it . Well canned laughter won’t make this situation more jolly.
I read on the Disjointed page on Facebook that the laughter WAS NOT canned.
Loved this show and ALL the characters
I love this show! I’m saddened to see it cancelled because I was anxiously awaiting the next season.
The chemistry between these characters/actors was great. I wish everyone well, but hope thus series returns at some point in the future.
