What’s This TV Show About?
A dark EPIX comedy-drama, Get Shorty stars Chris O’Dowd, Ray Romano, Sean Bridgers, Carolyn Dodd, Megan Stevenson, Lucy Walters, and Sarah Stiles. Recurring in season two are Felicity Huffman, Isaac Keys, Steven Weber, Andrew Leeds, Amy Seimetz, Sonya Walger, and Alex Sawyer. Based on the 1990 Elmore Leonard novel and 1995 movie, the series centers on career criminal Miles Daly (O’Dowd) who wants to escape his life of crime, reclaim his family, and make it in the movie business.
Get Shorty has been renewed for a third season which will debut October 6, 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
EPIX TV shows are not part of the Nielsen ratings system, so it is difficult to predict whether they will cancel or renew Get Shorty for season three. Flying blind, I think it will get a third season renewal, but I’ll keep an eye on the trades and update this page with breaking developments. Get Shorty is one of my all-time favorite original series. The majority of social media agrees with me. I paid for the Epix channel for Get Shorty and also for Perpetual Grace. If you are not going to renew at least get Shorty I’m going to have to cancel my subscription to FX. I just dropped stars because the series that I liked that they had they did not renew. I was thrilled when MGM took over Viacom and the other network that were controlling renewing series I thought MGM would do better by us. Time will tell.

Terrific show! Can’t wait for season 3!!!! Every episode was terrific!
