Telly’s Take
The ratings have remained pretty steady (an impressive feat these days) so I suspect that CBS will want to renew Hawaii Five-0 for a ninth season. However, Alex O’Loughlin has indicated season eight may be his last, so that could easily spell the end for this reboot. I expect that he will agree to return and the show will be renewed. I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and will update this page with breaking developments. Subscribe for free updates on any Hawaii Five-0 cancellation or renewal news.

What do you think? Are you glad that the Hawaii Five-0 TV show has been renewed for a ninth season? How would you feel if CBS had cancelled this TV show, instead?
My husband and I have been devoted fans since Hawaii Five-0’s first airing-
We even enjoy watching their reruns!
Please don’t cancel Hawaii Five-O-
It is a great program-
I understand some stars are not coming back which is disappointing, but the next generation of detectives will do just fine-
Again, we love Hawaii Five-O and we want it to return for another season-
Thank You,
Carolyn
I want the show to continue, it’s brilliant!
I still like the show very much but in my opinion the same chemistry is not there when the two co stars left the show over money issues
I always love watch it International in Australia I will continue watch this show and renewed if it consideration on a long term till I die this is the best show ever and I never stop watch it so much
AM hope thei gonna do many more season not only season 8 am wanna sé season 8,9,10, and many more
Please continue this show!! Greatest show of all time!
I love Hawaii Five O! Please bring it back! Don’t leave Alex!!!!
please keep it
Love the new season, not too sure about the Adam storyline – not really liking it. I can see them going for a S9. The new cast gave it some life. It would be nice to get away from the bomb stories, they have run that one too much. A swindler and undercover story would be good.
Love this show. Hope it continues. It’s our every Friday night show
Love the show. Hope it continues
I think there should be a 9th season I would be pissed if it got cancelled.
Want Daniel and Grace back. Would not mind watching Daniel in series by himself. His character was becoming very strong. Miss them both. Pay them the money. Maybe not equal to the two stars. But pay them.
I want the original woman and man cast members back. The new ones are ok but they are NOT Hawaiians. These two Hawaiians cops made the show special. If they wanted more money , they should have earned more.
Why would Alex consider making a bonehead move like that? If he does, he’ll make the one defining mistake that so many do: Gets a big head, thinks that his (her) horizons are endless in the TV biz, NEVER gets another good gig again, and then fades off into “what was his (her) name?” obscurity. Come on, Alex, get with the program … pun intended!
The only reason Alex has indicated he wasn’t sure about doing more seasons was because of all the injuries he has suffered doing the show. At one point, he said that he can hardly pick up his kids because of back pain. I’ve heard that he is feeling better and is on board for a season 9.
He has commented in the past on how physical the role is and the tole it has taken on his body, perhaps he’s more interested in being physically fit and healthy as an individual than to be be greedy and push on and damage himself even further. There’s more to life than money!
