TV show description:
Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) is a volatile CIA operations officer who’s been assigned to the Counterterrorism Center. She was recently recalled from Baghdad because she angered the Iraqi government.
Carrie is liked and trusted by her mentor and former boss, CIA Middle-East Division Chief Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin). She’s only tolerated by her current boss, director David Estes (David Harewood). She previously had an extramarital affair with him.
While both men know Carrie very well, neither of them (nor anyone else at the agency) know that Carrie suffers from bipolar disorder. She is being secretly treated by her sister, psychiatrist Maggie Mathison (Amy Hargreaves).
Carrie hears a rumor from one of her contacts that an American POW (prisoner of war) has been “turned” into an al-Qaeda-trained terrorist. Soon after, she learns that American forces have found Marine platoon sergeant Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis). An expert sniper, Brody had been believed killed eight years earlier.
While the rest of the CIA and the political establishment believes Brody to be a war hero, Carrie is worried that he has been recruited and brainwashed by al Qaeda chief Abu Nazir (Navid Negahban) to act as a sleeper agent. She begins illegal surveillance of Brody’s home, hoping to substantiate her suspicions.
Back in America after so many years, Brody struggles to resume his domestic life. Believing that he was dead, his wife Jessica (Morena Baccarin) has been having a relationship with his best friend, Marine Captain Mike Faber (Diego Klattenhoff). In addition, Brody’s two children, Chris (Jackson Pace) and Dana (Morgan Saylor), are strangers to him. His readjustment is complicated by his erratic behavior.
Episode #96 — Prisoners of War
Saul and Carrie’s final mission comes to a conclusion.

What do you think? Do you like the Homeland TV series? Do you think it should have ended with season eight? Would you have watched season nine on Showtime?
One of my favorite shows to watch yet..! My wife and I watched every episode since 2011 and the 2 year wait for season 8 was worth it. Sadly it has ended and, if it aired another 8 more seasons we would tune in and watch them faithfully.
As for the writers for this show wouldn’t be a bad idea to make another show to spin off homeland
I would like a 9th season only if your 7 year old son watches………
I love the show. It is one of a very few shows my husband will watch with me. He actually enjoys it.
The writers are great and I care about all the actors. Please bring the show back.
I truly need my Homeland fix.
I would definitely watch a Season 9 and beyond
One of the best dramas ever produced for TV
I love Homeland and have been watching since day one. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Homeland so much!!! It is the best show ever. It’s the beat Tv show I’ve ever seen!!! Please don’t take it off the air 🙁
I love Homeland, Carrie, played by Claire Danes is amazing…every cast member plays their roles well and it would be a shame if Showtime cancelled the show…I just renewed my subscription so I could watch Homeland, Ray D and Shameless…I, and I’m sure many others, would be very disappointed if any of these shows were cancelled…they’re the bedrock of Showtime.
If any of the shows are cancelled I will discontinue my subscription to Showtime!!
I love Homeland and definitely watch another season
I love Homeland. It’s the only reason I get Showtime n
Did not mean to vote down. My mistake. Love Homeland.
I absolutely love this TV show I’m going to miss it reading the comments of others I agree I wish there could be a couple of more seasons. Also bringing I do like the first season with Brody and his family I like the excitement of it even into the third season how to stretch that far out storyline picked up and going
Why – Why – for what reason – is Homeland being cancelled? Who decided? Why? What was the reason?
Love this show, sorry to hear it is ending
I really like this show and am sad to learn that Homeland is ending with this season. I loved the beginnings of Homeland with Brody and his story. Homeland did have parts where it lagged but the excitement of the storyline far surpassed the areas that dragged. I know that it is ending but I do wish that we could have a season or two more of this great show.
Please do not end this! I enjoyed it so much!
The writing and directing for this show is pure genius. Enough said. I’d watch 20 more seasons.
Still waiting for the new season!!!! Love this show.
Two excellent actors—-Danes & Patakin—-head a show that is always interesting and gives viewers some idea, beyond the nightly news, of the reality of USA vs Middle East. If Claire Danes continues, I would certainly watch.
The show is amazing and great acting. Carrie’s role is well played and the cast is fantastic all together. I’ve watched every show since season one and never have been disappointing. Heck, this is the only reason why I keep my subscription to Showtime. Don’t cancel such an amazing show, I as well as many of my friends are looking forward to this season’s episode. DO NOT CANCEL!!
