Can anyone save Kevin? ABC has ordered three additional episodes of its new Kevin (Probably) Saves the World TV show, bringing the season one episode order to a total of 16. Whether that means the low-rated freshman dramedy is cancelled or renewed for a second season is a bit more complex. It has been languishing in ABC’s problematic 10:00pm Tuesday timeslot and has failed to draw the sort of Nielsen numbers typical of a successful, new TV series.
From creators Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World stars Jason Ritter as the self-involved Kevin Finn, who learns he is the last of his generation’s 36 righteous souls meant to power it with the hope that can save the world from destruction. The ABC cast also includes: JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Kimberly Hébert Gregory, Chloe East, J. August Richards, Dustin Ybarra, and India de Beaufort.
Kevin (Probably) Saves the World: A Look at the Ratings
The first season of Kevin (Probably) Saves the World is averaging a 0.76 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.26 million viewers. When sorted by its demo ratings, it ranks 14th out of ABC’s scripted TV shows, and is 13th, in terms of average total audience size.
While hearing a network has ordered additional episodes may not seem like bad news on the cancellation and renewal front, it is somewhere between probable and likely that there will be no season two of Kevin (Probably) Saves the World. A small back order like this is often more about the network filling a timeslot than an indication that they will order a second season.
Although ABC has posted the episode order news to its press site, Deadline has confirmed the order.

I have missed this show since the last time it was on in early March…searching and waiting for more! I would love to have a season two. Please don’t give up on this show. Find a new time slot for a different kind of audience, before giving up on it.

Please don’t cancel the best show on television ! In this world of murders,terrorists, bad news coming from every size, we need this feeling good, happy, make us laugh and cry show. I love this show, will be terribly upset of you cancel it. I hardly watched ABC till this show came on.
Please keep my favorite show. It is a great family show. Tired of all the networks want to keep is killing, vampires, and demons. Please save this show.
Please renew this show I usually only watch The CW for the DC shows, but this is one of the few shows I watch that isn’t a show about superheroes that I actually like because it is a new idea instead of another NCIS like cop drama or a procedural lawyer tv series. I give the show a 10 for original thinking.

I love this show! It’s funny, witty, dramatic and original. It’s also something that I can watch with my teens, which is about as rare as walking across a unicorn
Don’t cancel this show. It’s been the only show we’ve made an effort to watch in years.
My daughter (19) and I LOVE this show. It’s wholesome, funny and inspiring.
Our family loves this show. My 14 year old son cannot wait for each new episode. We will truly be so sad if we do not get to see the entire wonderful story play out!!
I absolutely love this show!! All of the actors are wonderful. Jason Ritter pulls this role off so well. PLEASE do not cancel it. It will break my heart. We NEED more shows as refreshing as this one. Even my 12 and 8 year old can watch it with me. I can’t watch any other shows with them because there is so much sex, drugs, and other things they should not be exposed to at this age. This is a fun and quirky show. I really enjoyed it. I even had to search past episodes so I could get caught up. It’s in a tough time slot. I really hope there is a season 2. Finally a little something different.
