What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, Lucifer stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling. The supernatural procedural centers on Lucifer Morningstar (Ellis) who abandoned his throne, retired to Los Angeles, opened up a nightclub, and started helping LAPD Detective Chloe Decker (German) crack cases. Now with his mother (Helfer) taken care of, in season three, Lucifer wants to figure out who kidnapped him and why his angel wings have returned. He also has to deal with a new rival for Chloe’s attention, Lieutenant Marcus Pierce (Welling), who, unlike Lucifer, is strategic, reserved, and well-respected.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of Lucifer averaged a 0.83 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.30 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% and down by 10%, respectively. Find out how Lucifer stacks up against the other FOX TV shows.
Lucifer was cancelled by FOX, but was later picked up for season four by Netflix. Season four debuts May 8, 2019. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Although it premiered with okay numbers, the ratings for Lucifer are even lower than last year’s (and those weren’t very good). I suspect it will be back for a fourth season but it could easily be cancelled due to the low ratings. For now, I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and update this page with breaking developments. Why does fox always cancel great shows first was sleepy Hallow, then the Originals and now Lucifer. Hopefully if they are not smart enough to renew Lucifer maybe WPWRD will pick it up like they did for the Originals

I can’t believe that you cancelled Lucifer! What TRASH are you going to put on instead?! What is wrong with you? Are your people idiots!? Can’t you have shows that just plain entertain? I am so disgusted with all the crap that is on. Then when a good show comes on, it gets cancelled. Please reconsider.
Lucifer should not be cancelled. Direct TV and Fox were in negotiations from September thru mid to early January. The time change could also be another reason. The first two seasons aired at 7 pm CST on Monday.
Tom Ellis is one hell of an actor. I was familiar with him from watching the show Rush. He was the main character in that show as well.
The rest of the cast are worth their salt as well. I have watched other shows that they are in as well.
Please don’t cancel this show, I swear every time a good TV show gets put on the air it always gets canceled so unfair, I mean who decides really to cancel the shows this is crazy

Lucifer is the only TV show I keep up on weekly, it’s funny, makes me cry at times…a lot..it’s one of the first really good shows to come out in a LONG time..it’s adult, humorous great to watch several episodes at a time and all the actors in the show are great, especially Lucifer….why would anyone in their right mind cancel Lucifer? Do the fox deciders know their audience, or even care? Really dumb move, paychecks should be withheld until they return Lucifer to us

A witty crafty and excellently written show. Great characters. How sad to stop just when the Devils identity is revealed to Chloe. Very funny puns. Loved Lucifers singing. Worse shows have been kept. I don’t understand. Very disappointed.
