Lucifer premiered Monday night on FOX with more than seven million viewers tuning in, and one group is not at all happy with the new series. In fact, they are demanding that FOX cancel the series immediately.
One Million Moms has called on networks before to cancel series they object to. At the start of the fall season, they released a call to ABC to cancel The Muppets.
Now, they have set their focus on Lucifer. Read part of their statement about the series below.
“FOX’s new drama “Lucifer” is spiritually dangerous. The new program “Lucifer” glorifies Satan as a caring, likable person in human flesh. The character Lucifer Morningstar makes being the devil look cool, drives a fancy car, gets out of a speeding ticket, owns a nightclub in LA, and is irresistible to women.”
They go on to say that the premiere showed “graphic acts of violence, a nightclub featuring scantily-clad women, and a demon. The message of the show is clear. Lucifer is just misunderstood. He doesn’t want to be a bad guy, it’s God who is forcing him to play that role.”
How does One Million Moms want to get their message about Lucifer? They have asked people to focus on Olive Garden restaurants. They are asking people to contact the restaurant chain and let their feelings known about Lucifer because Olive Garden is sponsoring the FOX series.
Did you watch Lucifer? Are you a fan? Or, do you agree with One Million Moms? Tell us what you think.

I loved the show! Nobody is forcing them to watch it. It is a TV show! The last time I checked, television was watched for entertainment purposes. Teach religion at church and in the home, but don’t try to cancel a tv program just because you don’t approve of it. Change the channel or turn it off. It’s that simple.
It’s a good series, infact I’ve read books on Lucifer, and done many research. If people start thinking for themselves and see how things are instead of following how others feel, this world would evolve a lot better; I can’t wait to watch the whole season. Have an opened mind, and an open heart.
This show is wonderful and I truly hope it stays on. It has a great amount of potential in regards to plot and storylines. One Million Moms don’t like the show? Then don’t watch it. But they don’t get to speak for me.
I think that Lucifer is exactly as I would have imagined him. I, being a spiritual person, am not at all offened by how Lucifer is portrayed in this show. He is an angel afterall and made by God. If these women are so appalled, then they should just change the channel.
This series is awsome. My cousin and I love it already. Please dont let middle America dictate our TV shows. If they don’t like it they have the option not to watch.
If the series is unable to be aired on FOX PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE sell it to CW11. CW11 accepts and airs all vampire’s, demons, and devils.
Thanks
I think that the show is very good and if they don’t want the show on tell them to turn their televisions off.
We enjoyed the show and there is so many awful shows on I can’t see the reason for the outcry. These same people probably watch trash live Mob Wives or The Kardashians etc…..and maybe not..

I am a Christian and I have not seen the show, in fact I have never heard of the show. But I will say 2 things. 1. If this article is accurate, then it seems they have pegged Lucifer accurately. In that he portrays himself to be something he is not. That is why he is called the deceiver. 2. This TV show is not a theological documentary. Anyone who looks for it to be such, needs to change the channel. It is entertainment, not a tool for spiritual development. Come on Christisns, it is ridiculous to be afraid all… Read more »
You are amazing. I’m glad some people are able to understand that entertainment outlets aren’t trying to change people’s beliefs about the theological characters they portay.
I agree with you too Darla, but the bible does warn us in 1Corinthians 8:9 to “be careful, however, that the exercise of your freedom does not become a stumbling block to the weak.” Christians are at all levels of maturity and some may not be able to watch Lucifer for what it is without it causing them some kind of confusion. But we do need to have enough sense to turn the channel if we do not agree with what is being presented. There is so much “evil” on tv, if you are going to petition one, what about… Read more »
With all due respect Donna, one might as well say ‘there are so many thieves and murderers, if we’re going to arrest some of them what about the other ones.’ Thank goodness for the work done by great organizations like Parents Television Council and One Million Moms – otherwise there would be a lot more trashiness and evil on TV. The 1st Corinthians verse is important, but also remember Revelation 3:16: “So then because you are lukewarm, and neither hot or cold, I will spew you out of my mouth.”
BTW I e-mailed Olive Garden and their parent company to THANK them for sponsoring such a creative show and urge that they keep it on the air. As well, Oh and if you are one million moms how come your petition can’t get 50K signatures since last year?
It’s a comedy……. Religion is all fiction anyway,so it’s a comedy fiction. I thought the humor and sarcasm was great. Some people will always find something to complain about…… It’s why we have remote controls. If you don’t like a program.. …..change the channel.
great show. I have a MA in Theology and found the approach refreshing and interesting. Anyone whose Faith is so fragile as to be influenced by this series, has bigger issues.
Really!! Don’t these mum’s have anything better to do. I’m a mum and I have more important things to do with my children, reading with them or outdoors activities. This program is not aired in the day, what are you doing with your children in the evening? Watching tv your not happy with maybe? If you don’t like it, then don’t watch it and let the rest of us enjoy.
I love the show..nothing wrong with it and I guess the mothers complaining never watched Dominion.. And Tom Eliis is absolutely perfect..so handsome..maybe the new James Bond
Great show should not be cancelled if networks cancelled every show that hurt someones feelings or opposed their world view we would have noting on TV period!
