In October, we reported that CBS is rebooting the 1980s series MacGyver. Now, Deadline is reporting that Lionsgate is producing a film version of the classic TV show.
MacGyver originally aired on ABC and ran from 1985 to 1992.
The film is being developed by the original series’ creator Lee David Zlotoff and Fast and Furious producer Neal Moritz. The new CBS series is also being developed by a member of the Fast and Furious franchise team, director James Wan.
No word on whether MacGyver star Richard Dean Anderson will be involved in the film.
What do you think? Are you a MacGyver fan? Would you watch the movie? What about the reboot series?
I DONT FEEL ANYONE COULD EVER BE MYGYVER EXCEPT RDA SO I HOPE THAT IF THE DO FIND AN ACTOR IT SOMEONE LIKE HIM AND THE SCRIPTS ARE WRITTEN WITH THE SAME MORAL AND THE SERIES ISNT RUINED BY TRYNG TO MAKE IT LESS 80 S AND MORE 2000 .21 JUMP STREETS REVAMP WAS COMPLETELY RUINED BECAUSE IT WAS SO SILLY
Only RDA can ever be MacGyver, anyone else will only kill the project(s). Always been a fan of the series, would love seeing it back on the air.
Ill watch the movie if Richard dean Anderson is in it!! I really liked him in the series but movies after series never turn out as good!
