Magnum PI is returning for its final outing next month on NBC. The peacock network has now released a trailer teasing the reboot series’ final episodes.
Starring Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Amy Hill, and Tim Kang, the series is a reboot of the iconic 1980s series of the same name. It follows veteran Thomas Magnum (Hernandez, above) as he works as a private investigator in Hawaii.
With the trailer’s release, NBC teased, “Magnum, Higgins and the team are back to finish what they started. New action-packed episodes begin Wednesday, 10/4 on NBC and streaming on Peacock.”
CBS aired the show’s first four seasons before cancelling the series. NBC picked up the series for a fifth season of 20 episodes and later revealed that season five is the end. Episodes were already filmed prior to the ongoing actors and writers strikes.
The trailer for the return of Magnum PI is below.
What do you think? Are you excited to see what happens next in this action drama? Will you be sad to see the series end?
I am so angry at NBC right now for cancelling Magnum PI I could just scream. It is such a great show with a great cast that seem almost like family to me and I am sure to others of it’s fans too. I can’t think of even one character on the show who I don’t love except the crooks that is. When the ideal first came out for the reboot I didn’t think I would like it at all with the changes and all and I am a big original Magnum/Tom Selleck fan. However, the actors/characters won me over… Read more »
I am so excided that Magnum PI will becoming back for season 5, but no, no, no please do not cancel Magnum PI. It is one of my favorite shows, so please please rethink that and bring it back for a 6 and 7 season all the actors and story lines are so great listen to the people who love this show. If anything get rid of all those stupid reality shows. Thank you for listing please rethink your decision and keep Magnum PI on.
My husband and I will truly miss Magnum and his TV family; we loved the original and thought we would not enjoy the current one, but we were wrong! It’s hard to believe it’s all coming to an end but looking forward to see where they will all come out on the other side.. so many talented people!!
Yes, I’ll be sad, no, more than sad, to see Magnum P.I. end as it is one of my favorite shows. I’ve come to know and love the characters; they seem like old friends of mine. I’ll be there, front row center, for the final season. Thanks to the cast and crew for a fine show and a worthy reboot of the original.
I am sad to see the end. I like the show. Families can watch and enjoy.
To much junk on TV not worth watching. What a shame .
It really makes me sad and very upset that NBC picked up the contract for Magnum P.I. only to end it again after season 5. It doesn’t make any sense and why do they always get rid of the good programs like this one and like SWAT but yet they keep renewing stupid shows like Bob loves Abishola, Survivor, The Amazing Race, and Big Brother. I don’t think that I am the only person that thinks this is unfair. You need to keep Magnum PI and SWAT!!!
Amen!
