Season five of Major Crimes just finished this week. And recently, series creator James Duff spoke with TVLine about that explosive season ender for the TNT TV series.
The crime drama follows the investigations of the detectives in the Los Angeles Police Department’s Major Crimes division. The cast includes Mary McDonnell, Tony Denison, GW Bailey, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, Robert Gossett, Phillip P. Keene, Graham Patrick Martin, Kearran Giovanni, and Jonathan Del Arco. TNT has already renewed the series for a sixth season.
In the interview, Duff revealed the season five finale was originally written as a series finale:
But we also wanted to put an explosive punctuation to the end of the series, if that’s what we were doing, and instead it was an explosive punctuation to the end of the season. And as season enders go, it’s pretty big for us.”
Later, the creator said a renewal wasn’t a sure thing and TNT “was so unsure about whether or not they were going to pick up the series” for season six.
What do you think? Do you watch Major Crimes? Are you glad it’s coming back for another season?
Would like to see this show continue. Good shows are few and far between on tv, and this is a good show.
I hope someone picks it up I love this show!
I love Major Crimes. It is one of my favorite shows. I can’t wait for it’s return. I really like all of the actors and their characters. It is a great ensemble cast. If TNT wants to cancel something, cancel Animal Kingdom or Good Behavior. I can’t watch either of them
