On the air since 2016, Man with a Plan has been a middle-of-the-road performer for CBS. This time around, the sitcom is launching very late in the season. Could this late start date and the current pandemic help the series get discovered by new viewers or, will the ratings fall lower? Will Man with a Plan be cancelled or renewed for season five? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
A CBS family sitcom, Man with a Plan stars Matt LeBlanc, Liza Snyder, Kevin Nealon, Stacy Keach, Grace Kaufman, Matthew McCann, Hala Finley, Matt Cook, and Kali Rocha. The show follows an old-school contractor named Adam (LeBlanc) who is trying to adapt to the demands of modern family life. Now Adam and his wife, Andi (Snyder), are running a house-flipping business with Adam’s quirky brother Don (Nealon) and unlikely friend Lowell (Cook), with a surplus of input from Adam’s other family and friends.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
6/12 update: You can see the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: Season three of Man with a Plan on CBS averaged a 0.87 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.33 million viewers.
Note: These are the final national numbers (unless noted with an “*”). These are different from the fast affiliate numbers which are just estimates of the actual ratings. The final nationals are typically released within 24 hours of the programming or, in the case of weekends and holidays, a couple days later.
What do you think? Do you like the Man with a Plan TV series on CBS? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?
*5/6/20 update: Man with a Plan has been cancelled by CBS.
MWAP is one of the very, very few sitcoms that is actually funny. Big mistake to cancel it. (But the in-laws have to go.)
We love the in-laws, grant you that Stacy Keach is a little out of touch, but that is what we all grew up with. His wife has her own mind, with what women finally come to be. They are both tough people. Every actor on that show was strategicly placed. Love them all !!! Please reconsider !!!
I truly hope another network (are you listening Fox?) picks Man With A Plan up. The dialogue is SO well written and the characters are well defined – they truly do make my family laugh out loud. We look forward to this each week. Seems CBS was always ready to mess with it since they never gave it a real chance – mid-season starts, filling in for failed shows. Their ratings are great for all the mishmash they’re put through. PLEASE, somebody, save this show!
Save Man with a Plan…great characters
Hopefully another network can and will pick this up. It’s one of the few shows I really look forward to each week (the few times it’s been on the last couple of seasons). I’ve been watching the whole series on CBS Access (free trial only) and laugh through every episode. I’m super mad about this cancellation!
Once again MAN WITH A PLAN was laugh out loud funny. The best writing & acting you could ask for if you want to be really amused. The only other show, in my opinion, that’s laugh out loud funny is MOM! PLEASE keep this show on for yrs. to come!
Please, please, do not cancel this show Man with a plan. This show is funny please do not cancel

Definately renew. It’s very funny
Love this show! It’s one of the few sitcoms that I laugh out loud at. So many just aren’t funny.
You’re absolutely right! This show is ALWAYS laugh out loud funny. I can’t believe how some of those other “so called” comedies stay on as long as they do.
So true.
