Here comes the bride. FYI has renewed the Married at First Sight TV show for a fifth season. The season four finale airs tonight on FYI, at 8:30pm ET. The network will air a reunion special on November 1st.
Married at First Sight season five will match singles in the Chicago area, who have agreed to tie the knot, the first time they meet in person. Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Rachel DeAlto, and Pastor Calvin Roberson will return to counsel the couples.

NEW YORK, NY – October 25, 2016 – FYI has greenlit the break-out docuseries “Married at First Sight” for a season five it was announced today by Gena McCarthy, EVP of Programming and Development for FYI. Production has already begun in Chicago, Illinois with the new season slated to air in 2017.
“Married at First Sight” is FYI’s #1 rated series across all platforms, with the past four seasons averaging over 550,000 total viewers per episode. The series also consistently ranks as #1 on FYI’s website and remains a top driver for audience engagement and buzz on both digital and social for the brand. “Married at First Sight” season four is currently running in premieres with the finale airing tonight, Tuesday, October 25 at 8:30pm ET, followed by a reunion special on Tuesday, November 1.
“Married at First Sight” follows singles yearning for a life-long partnership as they agree to a provocative proposal: getting legally married to a stranger the moment they first meet. Over 40,000 candidates nationwide have applied to be married at first sight. In season five, singles from the Chicago area will be matched by a panel of relationship experts. Previous seasons followed couples from New York, Atlanta and Miami.
A team of experts including sociologist Dr. Pepper Schwartz, communication and relationship expert, Rachel DeAlto, and marriage counselor, Pastor Calvin Roberson, will choose what they believe are three compatible couples. The couples will not meet until they walk down the aisle and see each other face-to-face, for the first time, at the altar. After several weeks together, each couple must make a decision: do they remain together or decide to divorce?
FYI recently greenlit the spin-off series, “Married at First Sight: Second Chances.” The series will follow Atlanta-based “Married at First Sight” season three viewer favorites, David Norton and Vanessa Nelson, as they get another shot at finding life-long love.
