NBC’s new Midnight, Texas TV show was originally supposed to premiere during the mid-season, but the Peacock Network decided to slate the ten-episode first season for summer. That’s typically not a good sign. Can the supernatural drama draw enough summertime viewers to score a second season, or will the series slip into obscurity? Will Midnight, Texas be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
Based on the book series of the same name, from True Blood author Charlaine Harris, Midnight, Texas stars François Arnaud, Dylan Bruce, Parisa Fitz-Henley, Arielle Kebbel, Jason Lewis, Peter Mensah, Sarah Ramos, and Yul Vázquez. The NBC TV series plays out in the remote Texas town of Midnight, where nothing is what it seems. There, only outsiders belong, while normality is just plain weird. It is the best haven for people who need to hide from the world at large. The townies come together to form a sort of chosen family. Together they fend off external pressures from nosy police officers, vicious biker gangs, and their own dark pasts.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
9/19 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Midnight, Texas TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a second season on NBC?
2/14/18 update: NBC has renewed Midnight, Texas for a second season. Details here.
We definitely need a season 2!!! This show is fantastic. PLEASE RENEW FOR SEASON 2.
Please renew Midnight, Texas for a 2nd season!
Love watching the show midnight Texas
Please renew this show! There are so many great characters that are just getting started!
I love this show!!!! Please don’t cancel it.
Please renew this show. Never watched anything on Channel 2, Houston, tx.. It seems like every time I get interested in a show, it gets cancelled. But you always seem to keep crappy shows that no one ever watches anymore!!! Like someone had mentioned “The Simpsons”, nobody watches that, except people that are smoking weed!!!! So please, please renew this show, my husband even likes this and he usually doesn’t watch shows like this, so that is a big plus!!!! Thank you
I love this show!! Please keep it. Every time I like a show on NBC they cancel it before it can get a good following.
I love this show. I love the actors and the characters who play them. My whole family loves it. You should take into consideration the numbers of people who watch the show on Hulu, or need to DVR it to watch. Please keep this show!!!
I love this show. Something different from all the other tv shows out there. And I really love all of the characters. Please keep it on
We seriously love this show! Please don’t cancel! The characters are amazing as is the story line!
PLEASE KEEP MIDNIGHT, TEXAS!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SHOW!! ESPECIALLY JOE (JASON LEWIS)! STOP KEEPING CRAPPY SHOWS ON AND CUTTING GREAT ONES LIKE THIS ONE!! ITS THE ONLY REASON TO LOVE MONDAYS!!!
Love THIS SERIES FIRST PROGRAM I’VE LOOKED FORWARD TO ! In Long time please leave it BE .
This is the kind of show that builds a following with ongoing story arcs — If it’s not goofed up, it will become a blockbuster. NBC, you aren’t helping by moving it around and changing days (although we will not complain about the support for hurricane suvivors!). This series of books is actually BETTER than True Blood — don’t throw away what you’ve built.
There is MUCH more story to tell, and I am so in love with the characters. There were a lot of tragedies that affected viewership the past few weeks, plus a presidential address, plus some local channela that did special programs instead of showing midnight texas at the correct time. This show is so amazing, I AM NOT ready for it to go away. Renew for the fall season- I need a Midnight Texas halloween episode!
I”ve enjoyed every episode – please renew!
I love midnight texas should be renewed haven’t missed an episode one of a kind show
